  1. What about a hinge at the back, and a turn buckle at the front to secure? Nick
  2. Should be there. Might see if the Missus will drive, I've got a day off on the Thursday. Nick
  3. Last year my corolla failed on emissions, I added a bottle of something I bought from car spares place to the fuel, drove it for a week, then returned for retest and got a pass. This year, the same happened, but after 10 days it still didn't pass, I didn't want to spend any money on the car so sold it. I wonder how this would work when not being able to drive the car after a fail? (The garage suggested replacing the cat. as that might get the car to pass) Nick
  4. Had a fantastic run out today, nearly 60 miles round trip just to get a coffee. Can't remember the last time I drove the Hood so I thought I'd treat it to a blast. I was thinking that it might be time to sell it, but definitely not now. Bring on a few dry winter days for a bracing drive out. Nick

    Leg Room

I've got Cobra Roadster 7's in my 2b, on lowline runners and definitely sit lower than my last seats that I modd'ed. Legroom is good as well, I'm pushing 6'4" and 34" leg. Nick

    Car Woes

Wish I had time to use the Hood. can't use it for work as parking not secure. Rear window of Yaris now made of industrial cling film thanks to a guy at work. His missus has been on at him for 10 years to throw it away so he proudly took photos to show her. Nick

    Car Woes

So, it all started with a diesel leak on the Altea, booked it in for repair last Friday. Phone call 2hours after dropping it off to say leak was fixed, but a water pipe had burst and car could not be driven. Extremely trustworthy guys at garage that my Wifes known for over 25 years. This morning I went out to Yaris as usual to go to work, windows covered in dew, so I started the car, put fans and heated rear window on and got out to clear windows. Rear window "sizzled" at 1 side when I moved water to there, so I quickly turned heated rear window of. 150 yards from house "BANG" rear window shattered. Then find out dealer part for Altea is out of stock, so can't be fixed until at least tomorrow. Then 1st company I rang to replace window in Yaris gave me a date in 2 weeks.... Rang around and now getting fixed Wednesday morning. Good job the Missus works from home and can do without a car a few days a week. Nick
  9. If they're only just touching, I found the mounting plates had bent down slightly. I bent them back up a little and they've been fine for over 8 years. HTH Nick
  10. I used a plywood screen for initial assembly, using self tappers to hold it all together. I then drilled the holes to 6mm and "wobbled" the drill inside the frame to create a countersink. I then ground the sides off some M6 screws and fitted them from the inside, using dome nuts on the outside. Hope that ramble is understandable. Nick

    Age Related Plate

Al, later superspecs didn't come with an engine. Nick.
  12. Should be there, maybe with the missus too. Nick
  13. You could ask "Simon B" He's made a few shrouds I think, and the stalks fit to the column. HTH Nick
  14. A57 open and clear. M1 looks ok both ways. HTH Nick
  15. Just heard on local radio that A57 is closed near Red Lion due to an accident. I will post if I find out any more details. Nick
  16. Bump..... Still at £80 but I can forward any offers or questions to the seller most work days May be able to help with collection. Nick
  17. Mine, like others I presume, came with no brackets and made my own. I think the videos said to make your own. Nick
  18. That looks fairly normal to me. Most probably tidy it up or fit extra home made panels. HTH Nick
  19. We used to get threatening letters before we were married. The license was in my name, and always used my other half's credit card to buy big stuff like TV's. I always rang them and asked them to put both our names on the account but they couldn't, even when I told them they were wasting my license money sending threatening letters. Nick

    Finally

Spanky does ride again! Nice 1 Chris. Nick.
  21. Sale now cancelled, mileage up and down over a few years. Been searching for a couple of months, so a few more weeks/months won't hurt. Nick
  22. Might not be getting car after all. There's a problem with the mileage history we need to sort out. If all looks good after more research then I'll be still having it, if not then I'll be searching for that elusive low mileage, low price car.... Nick
  23. It's a cheap run around. Yaris diesel. £200 cheaper to tax than my old corolla and over twice the MPG. Nick
