  1. Hi Mark, there's a few of us in Sheffield with 2B's. I live near junction 31. PM me your number and we can arrange for you to have a look round mine. Nick
  2. Hi, the "doughnut" is a ford part, last one I bought (From ford dealer) was £1.50. Nick
  3. Hi, I had the same problem. I tried the hair drier and got burnt fingers but it did speed up the process of getting the blue stuff off. For the adhesive residue I found nail varnish remover worked best (Not the low odour stuff), then clean with cheapo window cleaning fluid (the stuff that looks like coloured water). Nick
  4. Hi, I'll be there, probably with a friend (Well.... The husband of a friend of the Wife's) See you there Nick
  5. Hi Lee, you could try "Retro Ford" magazine, or Cortina owners club website . www.cortina1to5.f9.co.uk Although it seams to be under reconstruction at the mo. OR http://www.buysellcortina.co.uk/home.htm OR http://www.cortina80.co.uk/ Nick

    Call Costs

Hi, The call should cost the same as to a land line (Home phone) as the number and dialtone are generated by the same exchange equipment, it's just "meter pulses" that are added to allow the payphone to charge the user. Beware, though, some payphones will not accept incomming calls. All this is for a fixed payphone, not the ones owed privately or in hospitals etc. Nick

    Fuel Pump Help.....

Hi, I've also got a few seized fuel pumps.... The last 1 I bought was new, off Ebay for about £30. It looked ok in the photo's, but needed alternative fittings on the outlet. I also installed a pre-pump filter to stop any crap from the tank killing my fun Nick

    Fuel Guage Problems

Hi, I found that by reversing the wires in my sender, I could get the guage to read "backwards". I did this as a quick fix for SVA to show a full tank, then found the fault was due to the guy who built my tank, and fitted the sender, had wedged the sender against the side of the tank so it couldn't move!!!! All sorted now though Nick

  18. I'll be there, too. I think it was August last year when we got eaten alive!!!!! Maybe move meet to Rother valley for next month would be a good idea (May try to charge us to get in though) Another idea, would be to have a run out, starting at Fox House, maybe to Castleton??? I'm sure we'll discuss this, and many other things on wednesday. See you there Nick
  19. Hi, I had to strengthen the bonnet to stop the mirrors vibrating. Using a piece of flat bar for each side, I bent it to the curve of the bonnet, then fixed it in place using 1 mirror bolt, 1 bolt through the rear bonnet catch (i.e. at the bottom return edge of the bonnet) and liberal use of Araldite. One year on and it's still in place. If you're at Newark, look me up. (Blue 2b, F reg, tall screen) Nick

  21. Mine was a Mk2 Escort van, T reg, riviera blue, 1300 crossflow. Great fun, but the only reason I'd have it back is for it's value. Mind you, my mate hated it 'cos it was quicker than his Mk2 saloon, and his 1.6 capri Nick
