  1. No Lee, its on twin Dellorto 40 DHLA carbs, I think the engine will just be gunged up with all the short journeys and standing around its done, as far as I can see it has done less than 5000 miles since it was registered in 1992 !!
  2. Thought would try posting a picture
  3. Well after six months of cleaning tank out, fitting new fuel line, pump filters fuel regulator and finding it still wouldn't run, so changing manifold gaskets, rebuilding carbs, still wouldn't run. new plugs, points cap, leads, rotor arm swapped coil got it to tick over. this week I have finally managed to get it to run -still a flat spot at 2-2500 revs but i am going to get it MOTed next week and get it on the road (its only done 200 miles in the last 5 years) a good run is bound to do it good.
  4. The next meeting is at the Church Mouse,Waldridge, Chester-le-Street. DH2 3RJ, starting at 7-30. It would be nice to see some old faces turn up so we can catch up on what you have been doing, but new faces would be welcome too.
  5. Once you cross the Tyne you are in the South, and then it's just different degrees of Southerness
  6. Good forecast for tomorrow night, looking forward to the run and meeting up with our southern friends.

  12. If the other things like headlights and wipers that operate when the ignition is switched on still work then the switch must be ok so you could run a new feed from the switch.
  13. I thought this would stump everyone, the car is a PACE Maelstrom from a factory in the Sheffield area. There were only 11 built and the first five which were built by Maelstrom themselves had a tenancy to snap in half in the middle!!!!!!. PACE bought the rights to build it and did the modifications to fix the car and ran a works racing version. Not every-ones cup of tea, it is Cortina front end and Sierra rear with a 1650 cross-flow.
  14. I should add that the bodywork hasn't been modified it is as supplied in kit form.
  15. One of my friends is putting his kit back on the road after quite a few years and I had never seen one of these before but have heard of them, I thought it would be worth posting this to see who can correctly identify it.
  16. The back panel on the 2B is a different shape to the exmo so doubt if you could get them to fit without a fair bit of work. You would probably be better looking at Locost rear arches as they may be easier to adapt.
  17. So that's what the flat top on the wing is for.
  18. You know i guarantee fine weather for our meetings !!!!!

    2B Chassis

If you are worried about the strength of the 2B chassis, my friend demolished a wooden telegraph pole side on with his and he walked away with only a cracked rib. They are by far the strongest of the 7-type chassis in my opinion.

    Loosing Water

My first thoughts would be to try a new radiator cap-could be just blowing it out the overflow.

i have been following your build and I'm sure it will be fine,or you will get a small to-do list, hope it goes well for you.
  24. The two things you want to do first are 1.Join the club- there is a mine of information on the forums and from our members most of whom have been there and done it. 2. get a copy of the IVA manual and read it, you will learn what the IVA test is all about. The Exmo can be put through the test but requires strengthening it various places among other things. I run an Exmo but it was built before any of these tests were in force-stick with it it will be worth it. If you haven't got receipts then you will end up with a Q reg but that doesn't make much difference. Don't be afraid to ask anything thats why we are here. Alan
