  1. https://www.spiyda.com/fuel-gauge-wizard-mk3.html Is an option for you if you can't find the right gauge/sender
  2. So true, it really did ought to be a requirement, also a £1K fine & 12 month instant ban for anybody who gets caught using rear fog lights in rain or less than 10 yards visibility, I fudging hate rear fog lights

    Autoaid renewal

Never had home start on any of my previous breakdown cover, if I can't get it started at home there is something major wrong & nobody else is going to get it started either. I would have thought biggest culprit is a flat battery, as we normally have 5 cars here at least one should always start to jump another from.

    Autoaid renewal

Been with them quite a number of years, easily over 10, maybe more, it used to be £38 for a long time, then in 2018 went to £41.94 & last year to £59.99 I argued with them over the increase, but they claimed that the claim frequency had increased & they had to put their prices up. Not that it had anything to do with the fact they had just been bought out by some venture capitalists, I threatened to not renew & the response was that's up to you the price is the same. I've used them twice, once when the MR2 Turbo threw a gearbox oil seal, so it was recovered 120 miles back home, 2nd time I was out with the daughter & a wishbone snapped on her Golf, only 10 miles away but no way we could have got it back. I looked around last year & couldn't find anything to match it, I hate insurance but treat it just as an insurance policy, something you hope not to use but it's there if you need it, some banks offer breakdown as part of the account, but some of them are worthless if you read the terms, only take you a certain distance, will only take you to a garage etc.

At least the ground shouldn't be frozen like it was a few years ago
  6. Surely you could pull the other fog light on with a relay off the first one
  7. I'm a cyclist yeah I know, keep your thoughts to yourself I've heard it all, but as I get my exercise I have noticed 2 things, firstly the speed of cars, they seem to be going faster, there's a speed warning in our village, stand watch it for 15 minutes & most vehicles go through 31/32 with an odd 38, but now it seems the average is 34/35 & a few more over 40, saw one yesterday 52. The other thing is the amount of traffic, it seems to be creeping up, over the last 2 weeks it has perceiably increased.
  8. Sorry still not a fan, but as long as you like them my opinion is worthless, it wouldn't be good if we all liked the same thing.
  9. Car is never going to fit in there even sideways
  10. Did the Ford switch gear ever only put the rear fog light on when only in the Dip position?
  11. Just be careful on the horn don't know on the Pinto but put a couple of these on Mini kits & the horn is wired the opposite way round
  12. Why do you need to change the column?
  13. Personally I don't like them, too Lexus/chavy for my liking, but each to their own.
  14. Not aware that we have anything like that around here, although not driven the car since Tuesday when we went to see wife's 95 year old aunt, we do intend to visit again next Mon/Tues as she can't use the phone & is IT illiterate, but it will be in shopping hours in case she needs anything, it's very strange, knocking on her door, then retreating back across the drive, only to have to shout at her to make her understand.
  15. When I had my Dutton many years ago I bought some normal hinges the correct size from B&Q well it wouldn't have been them as they didn't exist, but somebody like them, ground the top of the pin off so they came apart like the ones in the images
  16. It is hardly surprising number the circumstances
  17. If it wasn't for the lack of milk & some food stuff, we'd not know there was anything wrong if we didn't listen to the news, which I've stopped doing now as it's just the same repeat, repeat, repeat
  18. Carry on working everyday as usual, no change for me, no time in garage.

Is that the same one though, I think there's an Autotronics down Attercliffe or somewhere near the Arena
  20. It's not something I would do, I'd rather deal with the stuck clutch afterwards, than have to strip a gearbox out to replace what were good items.
  21. Will that not do more damage to the pressure plate springs & the release bearing?
  22. The Yanks swear by Coca Cola to free off a clutch, just not sure how you get it onto the plate
