  1. Just phoned Rac to cancel and a very pleasant lady said we would like to retain you as you are a very low user ( never in 3 years) so I said perhaps if my renewal price reflected that I would have stayed but I find it slightly dishonest that you will give me a discount to stop me leaving and not one to encourage me to stay!

Have you found a small white connector under the dash with two wires going to positive and negative? If so can I have it as its off my battery charger.
  5. I'm going to ignore all mechanical factors entirely and go purely on Astrology. With Mars in the ascendancy you will beat Terry on BHP and torque. Since Venus is in your lower aspect will not get all the BHP that you want, which will leave you pleased with what you have acheived but wanting more. Due to Uranus hanging out you will be wanting a bigger intercooler and a cold air ram scoop.
  6. Fit air ride and slam it on 19s. Oops wrong forum
  7. I agree the MX5 gauges are going to look much nicer than the sierra gauges. Here is a link to a specialist MX5 breaker I have used a lot they are very helpful. http://www.autolinkmx5.com/wiring-section-with-plug-mazda-mx-5-used-8264-p.asp Here is the link to Terry's SR2 build blog for what he did with his mx5 gauges. http://sr2builddiary.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/dashmod.html Two words of warning though The oil pressure gauge is only a real gauge on very early MK1's, on later models it is a fake gauge and works like a warning light on the sierra. The water temperature gauge is heavily damped and by the time it moves to hot it is really hot. When I converted from sierra gauges on my zero i used a bit of veroboard cut to fit the sierra loom plug and soldered the wires to my digidash to it and taped it in.
  8. I can't cite any learned paper in relation to the use of bike carbs on a pinto engine but I can say that the use of bike carbs on a pinto engine was recommended to me by Richard Hall at GBS, who, at that time had them fitted to the then zero demonstrator. In fact, having accepted that advice, GBS sold me the conversion kit consisting of bike carbs and inlet manifold to suit a 2.0l pinto head, surely they would not have done so, or even offered the kit for sale, if they knew it was not fit for purpose. I later identified the carbs as being from a Kawasaki zx6r a 600 cc motorcycle (150cc per cylinder). My car with bike carbs fitted was assessed and prepared for IVA by Simon Firth at GBS who took it for the test. I received detailed feedback on all aspects of the car and the remedial work required for the IVA but nothing was said about Bike Carbs being unsuitable for a 2l car engine. Since I was paying for a preparation service for IVA which includes an emissions test, I would have expected to have been told that bike carbs were no better than a fuel tap (if that is true). I don't know Richard's and Simon's qualifications but I was prepared to accept their advice based upon their apparent experience and relied upon the technical knowledge of GBS to ensure the engine in my car passed the requirements of the IVA. In any event my experience with bike carbs was good, I found them easy to maintain in balance once I was shown how to do it at the rolling road session, they gave good performance and reasonably good fuel economy.

    Concrete Ramp

I know this is a thread about building a concrete ramp so technically my post may be off topic. I have looked at your build blog (nice build by the way) Your garage lip and slope before it looks very similar to mine and I had no issues with my zero in or out. Looking at the picture of your zero it does look very low and seems to be lower at the back than front (maybe just how it looks in the photo) Have a look at this thread and in particular Whiz's posts about his ride height and where to measure from and KT's about the range of height settings. http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=43171&hl=%2Bzero+%2Bride+%2Bheight It may be that if you set the ride height and rake you will not need a ramp.
  11. Totally agree with Dan fantastic weekend and a true all weather venue with the massive hall (not that we needed it as the rain held off) spread the word that this fun and friendly event is one not to miss.

    Newbie Questions

The zero pedals are just fine as standard no need to go to expense and complication of a floor mounted pedal box. When you order you can ask that longer pedals are specified if your feet are really dainty. When I built mine I fitted runners to the drivers seat and the range went from me 6 feet 4 to my good lady who is about your height.
  16. Ozz +2 have paid through PayPal but worries about weather/temperature in late September are delaying a firm commitment to attend from the whole party.

Air in a fluid under pressure is compressed heated and dissolves eezibleed does all of these things to any trapped air and then when the nipple is opened micro bubbles form and are expelled with the clean fluid being pushed through under pressure... Physics
