    Tips Wanted

Hi Ken, Sorry for the late response ! His problems where that the car he had he used for Weddings and Functions Proms etc. He said the car would start OK then when he arrived at the function it would sometimes have difficulty starting, it would not idle properly sometimes and I believe the engine would not pick up when trying to accelerate. One of our other members Dan Howell had the TPS from us and measured its output and confirmed the output was not smooth which we believed denoted worn or damaged windings in the TPS. I am no expert but could vaguely understand that the TPS provides current to let the carburetor know how much fuel is required ! I may be totally wrong ( I am sure someone else here will correct my ignorance ) but once the TPS was replaced he said that the car ran better than it had ever done before and was much smoother and responsive. Sorry that is all I can tell you would you like me to contact him and ask if you can have his telephone number then you could discuss the issue, he has since parted company with the vehicle. Cheers Steve

  6. My Superspec was acquired from GBS by the original owner on 01/12/2007 it is plated as 003 and has a Sierra Sapphire 2.0 DOHC and was originally plated as E7RHS but the guy wanted too much extra cash to include the number plate so it returned to its G number plate. Hope this is of use. Cheers Steve

  9. Hi Chris I did put a note on the post that Richard put up for me as soon as I received notification from the WR963 people who were running the Wings and Wheels Show ! They messaged me and I put in the exert of the message they sent which was that it was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances Hopefully they will be able to attempt to run it again soon and I will try to post up detail if and when it becomes available. Rather SAD as the weather would have been somewhat advantageous. Cheers Steve
  10. Hi Everyone, I have the following message from the WINGS and WHEELS Shackleton WR963 people when I contacted them on Facebook trying to find out about how we should enter the site and where to put our cars Quote Steve, please read the following statement released by our Chairman earlier today. Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Trust, the Wings and Wheels day on the 24th of this month has regretfully had to cancelled. We fully understand that this will dissapoint and inconvienience some and we do appologise for that, our members did everything possible to make it work but it wasnt to be. Rest assured that we are working as we speak on a replacement event for later in the year, we do hope that you will all be able to give us your support in this, more details on this as we have them Once again please accept the appologies of the Trust, Thank you The Chairman I can't tell you how disappointed I am to have to send you this message, when I was expecting to send you access details. Sorry to let you all down. Hopefully we will try and get something sorted, I can only ask you to bear with us. Thank you for your support and interest. I'll let you know when I have more. Best regards. Unquote So as they say APOLOGIES Everyone will try to keep up to date on their next event. SORRY Steve
  11. Hopefully should be there too. Still PRAYING for decent weather on Wednesdays.
  12. Agree my Superspec has immobiliser fitted by original owner, Car was built by GBS and when the owner went to insure the vehicle the insurance company refused cover until an immobiliser was fitted. He had it fitted by Uplands Radio in Swansea, it is a deterrent to all especially the Red Flashing Light. Keep considering a removable steering wheel too but then you have to carry it with you or Bicycle Lock it into the car somewhere.
  13. GOOD LUCK Peter Been there got the "T" Shirt not allowed to put here my thoughts/actual events Again Hope you manage something soon. Retirement is easier but not at all what it is Cracked up to be or is it 2B. Cheers Steve

    Fuel Pipe Warning

Would add to Bob's comment I have been told anyone with an older motorcycle 60's -70's with Fibre Glass Tanks (Royal Enfield 250 Sport etc) that the Ethanol attacks and the tank has gone. Ethanol also I understand attacks Fuel Lines but I am sure there are a lot of other very clever people on here who will know far more on this subject than me, understand that lots of Vintage and Veteran vehicle owners not too happy.
  17. Steve have PM'd you. Thank YOU Steve

Would you ever what has happened to the indestructible " CD " as demonstrated on "Tomorrows World ", not sure if this is what it was called I am sure you will recall and correct me, they showed a CD being Dunked in Beer and many other antics and stated it was indestructible !! Cheers for the Nostalgic reminder. Steve
