  1. For IVA I squeezed some Cobra 7 seats in, later I swapped to some MG Midget seats which gave me a better driving position and were comfier. In the end I modified the top "chassis rail" and fitted a kirkey 17" seat which was the best of the lot. Shortly after that though I decided to build a new car.
  2. As someone else who is also larger framed, I found I couldnt fit in any of the composite seats that would fit into my s7
  3. In this video I pay a socially distanced visit to Steve Walford Motorsport to let Steve practice his aluminium TIG welding on a host of parts for the 1958 Ford Prefect Pinto Turbo project car. First up is chopping the end off the bargain AH Fabrications fuel tank and shortening it to fit in the boot of the Prefect. Next is welding up the top rad hose that I made in a previous video, and last but not least, welding new fittings onto the charge cooler radiator.
  4. In, out, in, out, shake it all about... Yes, the Pinto Turbo is going BACK in the 100e! That first start is getting close now, and I cannot wait! Lots of little bits to do first though.

https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/ and https://www.heritagecarinsurance.co.uk/insurance/kit-car-insurance/ both sponsor the club a-plan thatcham office comes highly recommended also.
  7. I assume yours is a sierra based monocoque with inboard shocks? In which case the brackets would normally be welded to the dummy strut.
  8. Which bit are you concerned with? How the brackets fit to the uprights or how the wings fit to the brackets? Brackets to uprights varies depending on what uprights your car has Wings to brackets people normally either bond or bolt or both
  9. The s7 pedal box is terrible as originally designed and has a lot of flex, enough to cause issues the the clutch not working correctly, no matter how much you adjust it. Initially i added 2 braces from top of pedal box front plate to the firewall, which sorted the flex on braking, but then needed to brace the clutch pedal assembly to the front plate too.
  10. Looks like an early S7 judging by what I can see of front suspension and the "chassis rails". 2B dash would be a straight fit but I am pretty sure could be made to work. You won't get anything off the shelf that fits and unlikely to get help from GBS as they try to distance themselves from these models of roboin hood.
  11. In this weeks video I finish off the prep and get to painting the engine bay of the 1958 Ford Prefect 100e in Subaru Mica Red, and boy does it look good! I wasn't sure this was the right thing to do, but in the end the result is exactly what I wanted.
  12. The time has come to remove the pinto turbo from the 100e... With good reason though, I promise!
  13. I don't think so. Think the hope is start again from next month.
  14. 1.6 heads didnt come in an unleaded version, so you'd need to find one thats already had the hardened seats retrofitted. Personally I'd look to buy something like this that is drop in and forget https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/272706867956?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=272706867956&targetid=909953938039&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045432&poi=&campaignid=10204071303&mkgroupid=104953043274&rlsatarget=aud-629407027825:pla-909953938039&abcId=1145987&merchantid=7260564&gclid=CjwKCAjw88v3BRBFEiwApwLevczqkTAb7V2P7F4oaQg4b56rMFQtIoNy9AkqMCcliPkZneOBsAV9WRoCFfMQAvD_BwE
  15. They definitely won’t fit an s7.
  16. Definitely still got the seats, was actually just yesterday contemplating turning them into chairs for the man cave Lights and gauges I'll have to check, but pretty sure I have them still.
  17. CBS is hideously expensive for most parts! I ordered a few wiper bits this week and the CBS price was over £100, I paid £70 by shopping around and buying exactly the same bits from elsewhere.

Pretty sure the dax ones are 2cv ones.
  19. In this video we reach an almost Project Binky / Bad Obsession Motorsport level of bracket obsession, just without the engineering and fabrication skills that they have. I did get my welder repaired though and do some welding of brackets in this video too, so there is that...

I fitted similar to my kit. You need to use the jeep mounting frames which you can buy new for about £50, on a seven style car though they will look pretty rubbish in those frames.
  22. Don't think you need the vin plate for the donor car, just the V5.
  23. Ignition timing ok? Is there a fuel cut off on the carb that needs 12v when ignition is on? That caught me out on a couple carbs.
