  1. Or buy the catches you like and borrow my rubber covers for IVA that fit over the metal style catch.
  2. All sorted. Software very simple to use. Just got to work out why I should programme it to be... Edit to add quick screen shot Don't pay attention to the figures, I was playing and have not uploaded anything to the blackbox yet, I need to work out what is a good base map before I upload it.
  3. No problem. I'm just installing the mapping software but having some issues with the laptop I'm using, though i think is to do with not having the right updates installed.
  4. Couple of updates on progress so far today. Fitted ETB rev counter and speedo Unpacked the the new distributor with accuspark ignition fitted and mechanical advance locked out so that it can be used with the accuspark blackbox Have fitted the distributor and will be wiring in the blackbox later. Also for those interested in fitting a blackbox, below is my hand drawn wiring diagram. The manual is good, but isn't really written to accommodate people going from an old dizzy without accuspark straight to a blackbox install, so took a bit of working out.

Just got back from zachs. Wiring all looks good, and all continuity checked out fine. Engine turns over fine but no spark. Definitely power to coil. Loom and Ecu are out of a car other than the donor and so IMO are an unknown quantity, though Zach was assured they were off a running car. I'm stumped

    Distributor Help

Wiring for 1.6 pinto will be fine for a 2.0 pinto as long as you use the same distributor type. Though I agree with dan, I would use the accuspark system, and in fact, as I had already purchased new coil and leads and plugs, I have just opted for their stealth blackbox programmeable unit and a premodified matching dizzy. Worked out under £140 withxlub discount. If I get a garage pass I will be fitting and mapping it this weekend.
  10. These are the ones I used http://www.autosiliconehoses.com/silicone-hose-shop/plastic-hose-connectors-joiners/plastic-straight-reducing-hose-joiners.html Can't remember sizes off the top of my head but will check the receipt when I get home as its in my folder.
  11. I got some barbed joiners for mine from auto silicone hoses (ash) on eBay. Needed the cylinder end shortening to be a good fit but do the job nicely
  12. Bring and buy is a great idea. Got loads of bits I could bring down to let go for little to no money.

Sounds more and more like coil pack

  15. No problem. Took me ages to work that one out on mine. Doesn't help that it all looks right when fully assembled.

    Carb? Help!

Remove the jets, check what you have and check they are clean. If not clean soak in carb cleaner. What were they installed on before? I can send you some instructions on dismantling and setting up a dellorto if you need them, have just had to some to mine and have a good PDF file I can share. Edit - Just realised this isn't about dellortos, must have got two threads confused...
