    Xflow Sump

Has anyone got a Mk 2 Escort 1600 Xflow sump, that they dont need? The last one (in locost) has got dented and leaks like a sieve, We need to make a new shortened one. Of course a ready shortened one would be even better.!! If you have please let me know if its bowl in front or to the rear...- I know there are 2 types but dont know what ford models thay came with. Graham
  5. Jamie Looks really good. When does it go in the car ? Got any of the MT75 ? I was worried about the starter ring. probably oodles of clearance, but I didn measure it. Graham

    Aerossol Paint

You will find the paint dries quicker and smoother if you heat the brackets before spraying. Just a normal heat gun, until the bits are too hot to handle. then blast away..

    Sva Fail

Hi Handbrake You will find piccy etc on www.gbowden.co.uk under mods. The stsnadrad Sierra handbrake was used ( modified ) but used the original RHE holes in the floorpan - and thus the angle crosspiece etc for strength. All I really did was make the handle longer and bend the lugs and extend the activating piece that goes through the pan , so that movement of the cable did not hit the floor. If you want detailed pics I can take them. The whole mechanism is just boxed in and does not interfere with moving the seat back and forth. Graham
  8. Paul I have just fitted a Nippon Denso - off a honda V6 onto the locost crossflow . No real; problem apart from working out the wiring. It had a large green plug in the back with 4 wires. basically Ignition light Ignition switch - (switched +)(coil terminal) Battery ( common to alternator output) cut off the last as it was for the ECU. works just dandy - and so much smaller and lighter. Build Sequence

Hi, As a builder of 2 x 2B - before you fix the floor pan to the chassis. - trial fit the rear axle cross bar. It will pull the chassis in down the sides - and stops the floor pan being wriggly.. Graham
  10. Mine are motor cycle ones , bolted through the windscreen mounts. www.gbowden.co.uk

    Heater

macca My SVA may have been a couple of years ago, but my experience was :- "OK there is a good blast onto the screen" --where it went was of little interest. Most of the 3 speed fan blasted air hit the screen about 6 inches from the edge and disappeared round the sides about 1/2 way up. Passed anyway !! Graham

    Hi

Happy New Year Becky. Keep Chris on his toes. Its not painting weather, but he needs to be ready for Detling . Graham B
  13. Thats not so badly damaged! RHE wouldn't supply me with the bits. I had to purchase a whole chassis. Maybe the new managment will be more understanding. You really will not know how much you have done until its all stripped out. If you need encouragment , have alook at www.gbowden.co.uk under "damaged" and then see the Phoenix reborn! It all looks straighneneable and replacable -- it should , its a Hood! The chassis really is quite strong.. Happy time in the garage. Beat wishes, Graham :boohoo:

Hi. Is it a slide in haltshaft unit or a bolt on. ie which sierra did it come off? Mines a 3.92 from a 2.0l DOHC ,I have plenty of power 3.62 might make 3rd gear a bit longer. Graham

    Help Needed Badly

Hi I have the DOHC in a 2B. the original servo was way too large, so I swapped it for the standard Sierra one , slightly larger diameter but much slimmer, - works just fine, discs all round www.gbowden.co.uk Graham
  16. Hi I extended the original Sierra handle and floor mounted, but at a much steeper angle. see www.gbowden.co.uk in "mods". Graham
  17. John I hope they are as kind to you as they were to me. My new gearbox works smooth as ...... I even did the Classic Ford mag item - threw away the black MT75 gearlever mounting frame and mounted the gear lever ball joint across the tubes - solid !! The final verdict was the outer halfshaft universal Please check yours too - Its a really nasty noise when you take your foot off !! Graham
