anyone know of anything a little more modern than sierra that can be made to fit a sierra column? quite like the idea of most of my switches not being on the dash

you wont drill it, as it is only pushed into plastic there is a cover on the opposite side of the gearbox, that keeps the plastic drive in place... remove that and you will be able to remove the gear and the snapped off cable

If you don't know what you are doing solder can wick up the wire making the whole thing too stiff..... however ford used solder in the sierra loom and there are still some on the road.... my loom is home made and has been soldered for the last 12 years or so.... only had one fail, and that got very wet

the local radiator place made up a copper/brass rad to the pipe positions i wanted.... wasnt much dearer

depends if the switch is doing all the work, or all the circuits off of it are via relays

Masking tape, mark out with magic marker. As long as the sheet is suported, so it can't escape you will be fine
