  • Welcome to RHOCaR - The UK Kit Car Club

The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organise events throughout the year.
The Club attends the major kit car shows throughout the year providing a stand with tea and coffee, plus a BBQ with food for members. You'll be warmly received, especially if you bring more food and drink !! We also have stands at many other shows all around the country.

It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members regularly arrange run outs and longer trips to such places as Le Mans, Wales and Scotland, plus the annual club camping weekend and the traditional “end of season” get together. Keep an eye on the events section of the forum for news and details of upcoming events.

The Club also produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members, filled with all manner of things club or motoring related, and members can get their own articles published in it as well if they wish.

The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register (RHOCaR), we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it's all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often find that the discount is more than the club membership fee. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a variety of other discounts such as with Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for any other member they see is in need of help !

So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield, a Caterham, (or any of the many other types of kit car), everyone can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for ?

Car Show Sunday 8th August 2021 - Doncaster

    TheBean
    By TheBean,

    Hello Guys and Gals,

I have this vision of doing a kit car weekend here at the hotel and golf club I work at. The idea would be for people bring their cars, show them and generally have a good time. We have loads of space for showing and I have an idea in my mind of using one of our entrance roads for potential timed ‘high speed’ runs, the road isn’t overly long but enough to have some fun doing timed Point to Point. The idea would also be to advertise to the public and to get a turn out of a few hundred people over the weekend. Several of our Golf Club members have supercars and similar and are showing an interest in getting behind this idea.

Do you think this may be something our local members may be interested in attending? We are based in Owston, Doncaster, DN5 0LP.

It would be great to hear your thoughts and if you think members might be interested.

    By richyb66,

Picked up a flyer for this event which ISN'T the Coventry Motorfest but a smaller one day event held at Coombe Abbey Country Park near Coventry, CV3 2AB. It's a car show with an organised run out (not that ours aren't organised), and it's pre-registration only. All in aid of local charities.

Full details can be found at http://www.leofriclions.org.uk/www/index.html#/event/car

    Stamford Car Show 29th August

    alanrichey
    By alanrichey,

Looks as though the Stamford Car Show is planned to go ahead this year on the August Bank Holiday Sunday (29th).  Fingers Crossed.   As usual we should have a parking slot allocated for Club Members.   Those of us who have been before should get an invitation code (mine has just arrived).   For other people it is first come first served.  They limit it to 500 cars (I think it used to be 300) but I would recommend booking early.   It is technically free but they 'strongly' recommend a £5 donation to charity, which is collected by a chap at the entrance on the day.

They also do a car rally during the morning but that is for very limited numbers and fills up quickly.  We don't normally bother.

Warks / Worcs / West Mids Monthly Meet Wednesday 26th May 2021

    richyb66
    By richyb66,

Our usual venue The Malt Shovel is now open so we can try having our meeting next Wednesday 26th May from 7PM.

I'm at the venue now checking out the format and am drinking inside. Basically we can meet inside which is set out for tables of 4 to 6 people up to around 40 people. You must wear a mask when you enter and sign in with Track and Track app or give your details at the front desk.

Once seated, masks can come off while you remain seated. It's table service only (we ordered drinks at the desk then sat down). After this you probably need to mask up and attract the barman's attention and he come to take your order then bring it to the table.

If the weather is decent, we can meet outside and order from there somehow.

That's about it, we can give it a go and see how it works.
