  1. Cheers Andy will look at that as well
  2. Will do alan, looked at it the other day but dont know what im looking for. I still get a TPS error on the mems but its been changed. Do you know if disconnecting the battery has an effect on the ecu memory as my battery isolation switch is on the -ve so when i remove the key everything is dead
  3. Thats what i was thinking but it doesnt have carbs its a 2L fuel injected rover engine (T series), I have re checked everything I took off which was only the cold air induction intake but i suppose the tube may have split, will take another look
  4. Hi all My superspec has developed a very intermittent misfire (I think) and the idle speed has risen from 900rpm to around 1100. The misfire or whatever it is has always lurked about, it can happen when just tootling along and then all of a sudden theres a slight hiccup as if my foot slid off the accelerator or it will happen when I'm giving it some beans overtaking something which is a little scary especially when something is coming the other way !! So I decided to clean the throttle assy with some carb cleaner ( gave it a good few squirts) and now my idle speed has increased and changing the idle value in the ecu doesn't seem to make a difference, ohh and a little more difficult to start from cold. The car has had new coil, leads and plugs (fancy platinum ones, may put Billy basic back in to see). All ideas welcome On the plus side ive fixed the clonk on pulling away (2 loose bolts on propshaft) and the play in wheel bearing (centre but not tightened sufficiently) 1 step forward and 2 back
  5. Try running a new wire from ignition to pump? , sticky pump? Does sound a weird one though
  6. I have it on mine with Adrian flux but it's pretty pathetic, £2500 for death!! , £2000 for loss of limb and medical expenses is £250
  7. Look on kitnet, they're based around Bristol/Gloucester and have monthly meets and days out
  8. I have the correct plugs I think if you want them, I redesigned my dash over the winter so if I can find them there yours!!!
  9. Just checked mine and if i remove the inline fuse thats connected to the coil the the car wont start and theres no clicking of the fuel pump, put fuse back and hey presto
  10. Mines Monday, fingers crossed, only thing I can find is a little play in a rear wheel bearing (been an advisory on last 2 MOT's). Will try and get round to it this weekend but if not then just chance it for another year
  11. There's some videos on YouTube, just search "robin hood build" (I think!!)
  12. Was going to double check with Dampertech and see what spring rates dave recommends
  13. Ive been quoted from kit spares that the kit that supply are the shocks are 13" open &10" closed with spring rates of 350lb front and 200/250lb rear. I'm looking to do mine as well!! They have quoted about £450incl vat but I would need the bracket for front suspension and need to make something for rears. I was quoted a similar price from Dave @ dampertech last year
  14. Hi Does anyone know what type of Sierra rear hubs the super spec used or are they all the same? I think my "wobbly loose wheel" incident on the drive up to stoneleigh has caused it to wear prematurely and MOT is about 3wks away
  15. Try car builder solutions or these on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/316-Stainless-Steel-Boat-Hatch-Door-Right-Lift-off-Take-Apart-Hinge-90x-38mm-/122690524362

    Noise cameras

Can't see how they can tell which car is making a noise if your with lots of other cars
  17. Any info would be greatly appreciated
  18. Can I ask what emerald ecu you used and how easy was it to setup. I have a non turbo super spec with the old MEMS ecu which seems you can't map it so it's very limited.

    Noise cameras

What are the noise limits or is it different for every area? And how do you test your car
  20. Ive just got a battery isolation switch but been thinking of putting a hidden switch for the fuel pump, mines a rover engine not pinto but don't suppose it makes much difference Oh and a removable steering wheel!!
  21. Ive seen them for sale on CBS and Kit spares, I was possibly looking to change mine to clear so I assume they are ok
  22. I'm in the photo to talking to Andy and Alan, my car is hidden in the background though
  23. Hi Jez Theres a member called red robin (joined last year) who has a Superspec turbo so maybe worth trying to contact him, he didnt build his but I think it runs ok
