Hi All, Great run out the The Corner House Meets at Charity Fam, Wrightington, over 100 cars in attendance, bacon butties and a brew, kicking tyres with like minded people, what a fab morning. (check it out on Facebook for more pictures) Now I'm not an expert in recognising types of cars but there were TVR's, Ferraris, Porsches, Cobra replicas, MG's from yesteryear, a nice JBA Falcon, a lovely blue GTM, minis, rally liveried cars, a gorgeous 1991 RS Escort, an XR2, a Datsun Cherry (couldn't see any rust ) and a tractor! (I have missed a load I am sure. A couple of piccies attached along with my pick of the Porsche bunch. They hold these meets first Sunday of every month, no cost to enter, surely if you live in the NW this should be on your radar, see you all next month. Darrell

RIP Ivan, I have only been a member for a short period but he answered my questions and offered guidance about local garages and resources, never met him a pity sounds like a great guy.

Hi All, Are there any car meets/ shows/ events in your locality that we could use as a base and a "meet up" for the NW RHOCar members? All seems to have gone quiet in the NW area! A member mentioned previous area meets at the Phantom Winger, Broughton. Thoughts on setting this up again or perhaps another venue? Ideas and comments welcome. I don't mind doing a bit of groundwork to get things going but don't want to be on my own. I look forward to hearing from you. Darrell

My 2B has just passed its MOT on a visible smoke test only as no values are recorded on the V5. I am running a 2litre SOHC with 38DGAS carb.

my last correspondence with DVLA was via 'online chat', I found this useful and gave me an exact path to follow, may save some time and angst as to where exactly to send to, just a thought and you can save the conversation just in case.

It was given an age related plate relevant to the original donor (F reg) I put the personalised plate on when I bought it last year

Hi, after reading the above advice re dates of registration, I noticed on my RH 2B V5 that the date of first reg and date of first reg in the UK were the same i.e. the date passed IVA 01/07/2010, so I chatted on line with DVLA and they suggested I sent the V5 in, so I duly sent the V5 to DVLA with a covering letter and form V888 only to receive it back 3 months later with a covering letter stating they do not take into account the donor car dates classing the kit car as a new entity with the dates from the IVA test. Please see the attached letter if you need to. Thought I would forward this as an update to what is mentioned above, Darrell

Hi, weather, petrol pocket money(!?!) and 2b permitting I am hoping to drive down to Stoneleigh on either Sunday or Monday. Is anyone else doing this from the north west? perhaps willing to meet up on route and drive down together? Just putting it out there...

Thanks for sharing your local knowledge, perhaps if you team up with Shaun you could be the navigator I have a bit of work to do on mine, was planning a cheeky run out in the good weather we had and he wouldn't start!!!! Couldn't see anything obvious, so hoping to spend a bit of time later this week to get him running again.
