  1. Hi all, I'm in the process of rewiring the Exmo. The old original sierra loom is out and I have a butchered second hand VG loom to fit. I'm having to splice in the column stalk wiring but I can't find any details for wiper relays etc I'm sure I should have some extra ones, not just the flasher unit. Also am I right in thinking that the boxes drawn on the diagram are for connectors where the wire colours change. Hopefully my attachment works and you can see the diagram. I can only get so far before I'm stumped. Help me obi one you are my only help.
  2. Hi Steamer. I'd be very interested in the Rhocar community showcasing their expertise at the Donnington show and using my car. I'd love to get the Exmo finished, I'm deployed out of the country again in September for another 4 months and it looks like my job will be delaying the completion for yet another year. As you already have mentioned I've pretty much got all the bits to finish my 7 year rebuild I just need to get it done. The tie bar mod is completed and I'm in the process of fitting in the loom and making the best of the original sierra loom and a 2nd hand VG loom. As you said it's then a few nif naf bits for the mot,but more work required to actually get it to a satisfactory completion. Dave

    Exmo Front Shocks

I think the sub k model used the same set up so you might be able to expand your search.

    Loss Of Power

Are you running a dizzy? I had a rotor arm that was shorting out once. It caused similar running problems.
  5. I've got cobra roadster 7's in my exmo. They fit but it is snug
  6. Dan. I bought a used vicky green loom a while ago and it does need extending in a couple of places but I'm thinking its useable. Rich, I'm not too worried about a time scale. The priority is to get it safe and road worthy. After that anything else is a bonus. I'll sit down and make a full list and PM both of you. The outlaws are near Loughborough so can organise visits and drop offs /collections fairly easily. Dave.
  7. Oops. Beer. Late night, and predictive text make for interesting reading lol
  8. It's already registered. It failed an mot 4 years ago on silly things but I haven't had an opportunity to really get it sorted. Washer not working. No blue light on the dash when main beam operated. I've sorted a couple oc other bits. The problem j have is that j get half a day of tinker time every couple of months. I think I've sorted the tie bar conversion but the list of other bits seems to be getting bigger. Hopefully I'm going to get most of tomorrow on it so I may get some progress. I still need help though. Not too worried about a V8. Need to use the bloody thing first. Used it for 1 year, got it red prayed and now it's gathered dust for 7.
  9. I need someone to come and take my Exmo away and complete it for me before I get sectioned for depression or the missus files for divorce. I'm in Norfolk but can organise to drop the car to most places. It needs a tie bar modification completing, wiring loom rebuilding or replacing, a dashboard making, carpets fitting and probably a few more associated bits finishing. I've been trying to fix and tidy for 7 years and I've given up. Tours to Falklands, Iraq, Kenya, Gibraltar mixed with having a young family means that I no longer have any time to properly concentrate on it Hopefully there is someone out there who would like to earn some spare cash and has the free time that I lack. Please get in touch and hopefully we can come to a good arrangement. Dave
  10. Good spot on the rear arches, Wirdy I posted the manual and videos this morning, sorry it's taken so long. Hopefully they will help you. I've had the arches off when I went through my rebuild and respray, they are easy to do providing the bolts aren't rusty. Dave
  11. Wow. That's going to look funky when it's all done. Certainly know it's yours when you are out on a run. Like.
  12. I've had the exact same thoughts and once I'm on the road will be finding a cheap bandit 1200 exhaust to fit to the exmo Difference between Revs and engine size, will hopefully be around the same capacity flow and back pressure. At 25 - 30 quid it's worth a punt.
  13. They also do another one which looks like a 50's roadster. Looks better in my opinion. I can't hyperlink from the phone but I typed z3 kitcar into eBay and it was one of the first hits.

    Sorn

Been Sorn'd for the last 7 years. It will get back on the road. A simple respray leads to so much more... The job doesn't help though. Maybe I'll get some time over Christmas. Pigs might fly ...
  15. I've got cobra roadster 7's iny exmo. It's also mono chassis. I never measured the width either side. They are a snug fit and if I had some side panel padding they probably wouldn't fit.
  16. i had a similar thing on my old Alfa Sud once, it was the rotor arm shorting out intermittantly causing loss of engine and the occasional misfire i'm not familiar with megajolt but it sounds like a similar thing. could a coil pack be shorting to earth?
  17. Cheers saw the pics after I'd posted on this heading
  18. Pictures please guys. Don't be mean to those that couldn't make it We want to see what was going on.
  19. I was looking at a similar thing for my Exmo. I ended up buying a set of almost new sub K suspension from a member here, the front set up is the same as the exmo but not adjustable. The rear were adjustable gaz shocks but was the wrong configuration for mounting as they were designed for the 2b chassis I'll have to get a bracket made up and strengthen up the rear In the end I got some original coil overs as well so I've got loads of options open to me.
  20. Did you find out what the problem was for the starting issue?
  21. Hi boggie. I've checked my pinto and I have a lucas 5M90 starter. No idea if yours is the same though. I have an 86 exmo but can't guarantee the age of the engine. If the Dino is yours I'm very jealous. It's my ultimate all time fave. Dave
  22. Funny you are mentioning this. I have exactly the same problem. Exmo nog started of run for a couple of years and funny clicking noise slow to turn and a good battery. I've checked and added earths to chassis and started motor. I was thinking of replacing the motor too. The part number is on the starter motor but I haven't yet got round to removing it for s closer inspection. Anyone got any good advice. ?

    Dam Busters

I consider myself rather lucky. A good friend of mine lives at RAF Coningsby where the BBMF are based. Summer BBQs at his are fantastic as he lives towards the end of the runway and we regularly see the Lanc and Spits flying around.
  24. Thanks dan but I was getting ahead of myself. Priorities first. Got to finish the rebuild first and get it on the road All the extra bits will have to come after
