  1. As long as the date / dates doesn't fall on my shifts I,d be up for blasting the supercharger down the 1/4 mile
  2. Might make this one
  3. martin keenan built mine, £600 complete system, bespoke design and fitted..
  4. I have just ordered all new silicone hoses to finish off the supercharged build. I needed 16mm hose joiners to link a series of elbows together for the heater matrix, so ordered them as well from the well know supplier. What I expected was 50mm alloy joiners with beaded ends what I got was cut lengths of tube of varying lengths roughly cut with burs. Not at all like the website showed. I was a bit *bleep* off. So decided to use a different idea which was cheaper and far better quality, slight mod in the lathe and perfect.
  5. How do you think I feel !

  11. The laptop and lead worked fine on the afr meter programing but wouldn't touch the ecu. Desktop is an old pcs from 2001 which is a bit like triggers broom. The laptop is newer but still 10yrs old. I've ordered a longer serial lead and set the desktop up as near to the car as practical. Will see if it works on a long lead.
  12. Today was 1st power up of the canems ecu, loaded software and USB to serial drivers on to my lap top and desktop both in the workshop. 1st job was to connect laptop to the innovate afr meter to change the settings on output 1 to the canems afr requirements, instant connect piece of cake... next job connect to ecu using same lead and laptop. Would the laptop connect to the ecu no it wouldn't not a prayer!!! So I set the desktop up next to the car and plugged ecu in, instant connection. Why did one work and not the other ? Both xp based..
  13. Nice choice of car, but I. M a bit biased towards that stable
  14. I do miss that v8 sound from the westy Next project will most likely involve a v8
  15. ive noticed how quiet its got of late to...
  16. Getting closer now to firing up the supercharged zetec for the 1st time, today was the 1st turn over sense complete rebuild using new mains, big ends and oil pump. Having primed the remote filter and new pump I cranked it on the key, the oil pressure rose very quickly to 60psi, does this sound good ?
  17. My early Honda civic sport had a bike carb like set up out of the factory, 2 mikini or similar carbs on it I think
  18. having had both I. M afraid it's the webers that are best in my opinion...that said I. M ditching carbs and going steamer powered
  19. At the end of the day bike carbs are just a cheaper way of having 1 carb per cylinder than webers or Deloroto. Just nipping in to the Anderson shelter now, c u after the bombing raid
  20. Loved my v6 406s did galactic Miles with no issues. The pug v6 was bomb proof... Later pugs are OK, but I have a slight advantage in that I have the dealer pp2000 diagnostics
  21. how's my old gal doing?
  22. They all have there pros and cons. Mainly budget. 32 36 will do the job fine if you are after standardish performance. Bike carbs are good for the cost and give good torque and bhp. Dcoe 40 45.s are my favorite but the most expensive option by far, once set up properly they are awesome carbs. But need a proper expert to get them right.
  23. I will rephrase my statement then it's just as good as the others if all you want is to run 16v 4 pot fuel injected with a supercharger and not all of the other features that the others offer. Which on a kit car is most probably never going to be used by Mr average owner. I looked at the omex and emerald and discounted them on price, by the time you added all the bits on it was way more than £714 I paid for a complete canems kit.
  24. Look at canems better price than omex and emerald and just as good. Brilliantly simple instructions to follow
