You have to be careful how you move the weight, to much in the back to compensate for a low nose weight will mean a very unstable van. It will give a nice pendulum effect once it starts going. my twin axle van sits around 90 to 95kg on the nose.
  2. I pay nearly £200 but was always around £130 before it got boosted

Quick Google says Max tow weight of 2000kg so 85% of that and only 80kg nose weight all depends on what van your pulling, nose weight is low a lot of vans are heavier than that on the nose. Bigger the car the better generally.
  4. going to make some air ducts to aid cooling on the brakes
  5. If truth be told I preferred my car as it was with the Weber's etc, don't get me wrong the car is seriously fun now and I don't regret doing it. I Always wanted a crazy fast car but the RDS, speed cameras and number of cars these days take the fun out of
  6. If you haven't already i would consider fitting a thermostatic oil cooler, my water temps stayed well under control with the davis craig set up, the oil not so much tappets started ticking and pressure dropped a tad after 6 laps or so. now fitting a cooler and thermostatic take off and oil temp gauge. In rd use its not an issue as you wouldn't ( at least i wouldn't, i like my licence) be thrashing for long enough to heat the oil up that much, but the recent track day exposed a few weak points brakes and oil temp.
  7. Having done my research i have now opted for a wilwood midilite 4pot set up with 285mm vented discs and wilwood fast road track day pads, if that dont stop it nothing will. no point having a fast car with no brakes, when it was Normally aspirated the brakes weren't so much of a problem. ive now decided that the car is going to be more of a track car than road. Its to bloody quick for the rds now, dont want to get nicked! Its so true what they say bhp costs ££££ if you want to do it properly
  8. I have M16 calipers 245mm solid discs mintex 1144 pads powered off ,65 m/c. At blyton weds they just weren't up to the job not enough power and were over heating after 3/4 laps. What up grades are there? Thinking 280mm discs with wilwoods, hi spec or something equivalent? Any recommendations
  9. With the addition of the 3.54 diff my English set up cost more than a grand, but the car now has traction and is correctly geared for the power and torque. No point adding bhp and ft lbs if you can't safely apply it. Obviously just my opinion
  10. I use the quaife ATB in my English axle and can tell you it was one of the best mods I ever fitted, yes it was around £650 fitted but worth ever single penny. Improved the car, better handling and more grip.
  11. fair enough, I just know how much time it took to get my engine running corectly and safely, i.d hate to see it go bang after all the work you have done.
  12. Are you not getting it set up on a Dyno ?
  13. My engine is absolutely fine on standard rods, if it does bend them I will worry about it then. Research suggests these engines are good for 12/14psi boost with no issues.
  14. I have a brand new coolex alloy 42mm polo style rad for sale complete with spal fan £180
  15. Speed limits all the way, haven't got those flashing blue lights.
  16. Only just read this post, I won't be there other things going on. Howleybar if your ever stuck mechanicaly, meets or no meets contact me I will help where I can. If you do arrange stuff in the peaks i.d be up for it but like you I do 12hr shifts so would be hit and miss if I could get out.
  17. I had pilot sport 3 which when NA were great once boosted I was spinning up in 3rd, might be the amount of torque I have so low down that does it, wait till you drive it you have created a monster
  18. Now you just need to get the power on the ground, i had to put a taller diff and ATB in mine combined with v6 type9. Now pulls 65mph in 2nd, feels slower but is faster. Standard rd tyres wouldn't grip either had to go for toyo r1r.
  19. Join up and put yourself forward for the committee in may if voted on maybe then you could influence some change.
  20. Weighed a 1.8 in last week...
  21. Anyone have a rough idea what it costs for a single track day or even an annual policy ?
  22. Cross climates are what I've run on 307cc not only are they good grip the mileage is good, over 20,k and still legal. Grips dropped off now thou
