I agree, I was looking at the recent post on tyres and would like to fatten out the back 2. Got yokohamas on but cant remember what size. (Not with the car at the mo) Ill go to the local boy racer tyre man tomorrow for a quote.

Have to hang my head in shame and say I purchased the car ready built so not sure where it came from and there are no visible markings on it. It is perspex and could possibly be home made as bending/heating this material is not too difficult. Where`s every onel elses pics????

R and R in Wigston as you had yours done there. Ok so he might not be au fait with sliding pillars but not many people are. However he did do a £5 discount as he likes kits, didnt try forcing an emission test out of me and seems a good chap.

IT PASSED????? I had resigned myself to opting for the expensive wishbones conversion, but just for my own piece of mind wanted to have a final look at the suspension failiure. The bolts all seemed tight but I decided to use brute force and squeeze another 1-2 turns on the bolts underneath the pillar, the pinch bolts and the welded bracket. Took it back to the garage and asked him to shake the car on the ramps again as I couldnt see any movement. Lo and behold no movement and he gave me a pass. Phew! Ill put off the wishbones till the other side of Xmas.

The tops are slotted and couldnt see any slots on the bottom but will check again. The spring assembly that is coming away has always had problems with grease/oil gathering around the bottom of the bump stop whereas the other "ball joint" side was always clear.

Second look at the bracket, it doesnt appear to me that it was ever joined up to the pillar as it seems to be part of the wheel hub itself. However up on the mot ramps when the guy shook the car sideways with that clever thingy on the ramps the whole wheel moved outwards. What could be wrong? Just spoke to kit car parts and they say its a cortina joint so one is on its way.

Just failed the MOT on sliding pillocks. Bottom ball joint nearside gone, anybody know where I can get one from????? Also any local recommended welders who could weld a strut back together on the drivers side pillock. Ill put some Photos up in a bit when me and the car have cooled down.

I agree Peter, In fact I was watching a programme on Discovery channel and some of the original global warning scientists who advised Governments admitted that they hugely over compensated the doomsday figures, and that they have no regrets as they thought action should be taken sooner. So maybe the bin an could have taken my old fridge after all.

Hi, Just to clarify things, I will need 4 90deg elbows and these are the only ones Car builder solutions do http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/elbows-345-c.asp 12, 15, 19mm are the closest ones My question is do i stretch and clamp the hose to 19mm elbow or just clamp it to the slimmer 15mm? Sorry but i am new to all this and was going to order the elbows online as the local car shops dont have any and cant be doing with sending stuff back by post Cheers Andi
