  1. In my opinion it's not high enough for a breather as you will loose tank capacity only a little bit but it's a small tank. I used a bit of 8mm fuel hose and a stainless set screw and hose clips. I was told that blanking caps are available but never seen any.
  2. Heat made mine do that. I'd Check in more normal conditions before reaching any conclusions.
  3. Won't have my roll bar fitted by then and would not go on track without but may pop up with the sprog for a watch.
  4. Happy birthday Terry, have a great day.

    Scottish Highlands 2015H

Perhaps two trips need organising. Then people can do one or the other or both.

    Scottish Highlands 2015H

I'm just tweaking my coilovers and so far I'm very impressed with the handling and I think Adam the mx5 will cope well on the twisty highland roads.

If the weather is as good as the last 2 years it'll be Keith and me at the back with the scissors and hairspray...... but if the weather is bad Keith and me at the front with the snow tyres and heaters.
  9. Avoid normal silicone it gets eaten inside and the carbs fall off. Flouro lined got mine in a fixing kit from DanST with the sexiest stainless jubilee clips 4 thin for the carbs 4 fat for manifold. Never had a problem after.
  10. I know....... mine went to Leicester

    GBS Open Weekend

I shall be just round the corner failing an mot in the mx5 so will pop round possibly. Unless I pass the mot then its off up to mx5city for 4 of their finest coilovers and a new hood.
  16. It only drops a small amount after a run not had to regularly top up. Drive it you will be pleasantly surprised.
  17. Mine passed with big washers and harness through the seat.
  18. Seats are easy in the zero because the floor is welded to the chassis drill the holes and put big washers on each bolt. assuming a fixed seat position get 4 studs or cut the heads off some m8 bolts and put them loosely in the bottom of the seat a dab of tippex on the ends and place seat into position to mark the holes. Then drill put the seat in with the studs then remove a stud one at a time and replace with bolt and washer.
  19. I think you should trim the dash not the chassis. Lowering the column in the cabin will raise it in the engine bay causing all sorts of issues. Remember tha the dash in the region of the column will be covered by the cowl so not seen. Enjoy your garage day.
  20. You will only be able to get an age related plate if using a certain number of parts from a doner vehicle this will be demonstrated by submitting with your application for registration the V5 of the doner and a declaration of the parts used (certain steps omitted for clarity). https://www.gov.uk/v...verted-vehicles Since you will be using new parts or parts from an unknown source a new reg or a q plate are your only options. https://www.gov.uk/v...tbuilt-vehicles If you choose a new reg it will require a cat to be fitted, vehicles that are required to have a cat on registration (ie new reg, not Q or age related plate before 1992) will now (since 2014) not pass an MOT without a cat being fitted even if they can pass the full cat emissions test at MOT. https://www.gov.uk/g...tice-1-2014.pdf https://www.gov.uk/g...ok-complete.pdf As far as I'm aware GBS have a silencer with a cat fitted so the look is not compromised. http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=855&sort=p.model&order=ASC&limit=32

    Engine Ecus

Megajolt is an ignition only ECU. Emerald is ignition and fuel injection. What you need will depend upon your choice of carbs or injection.
  23. Ozz got home fine thanks for your help Ian. Voltages seemed a little higher if anything. Maybevmy belt was too tight which put alternator too cloae to chassis. Anyway will need to source new alternator bracket and tensioner.
