  1. Packing car when little ones go to bed, I will add chairs going to be a tight fit.
  2. I agree it is for all, but from a outside perspective it is still Rhocar for Robinhood cars, GBS does not advertise our brand and benefits. I have joined two kit car clubs recently, both have larger memberships and both do not have a single brand in the title. Not bringing up an old debate but we must change and pro-actively attract new members to our club. Rant over, for now.
  3. Lets add a zero section on the forum, and go there with The U.K. kit car club aka Rhocar banners and membership forms! Im I being too pushy?
  4. As above great weekend, thanks to all who organised and helped in one way or another. Great success for the car 7 hours of driving with no breakdowns......except a few seat bolts that are slightly smaller and Richy if its a rectangle red reflector than its mine but dont worry I was going to replace both with round ones. Thank you all.
  5. Just leaving work now, I will not be home until 9ish tonight. See you tomorrow morning.
  6. Hi Jez, Can you please put me down for Montford? Thank you
  7. A welsh trip virgin so not sure the places discussed above but I live in Telford so I can more or less meet anywhere west of Telford. I dont know how good or bad my fuel consumption is with this engine so I will be taking almost every opportunity to fill up. Tesco M54 jnc 6 is ideal for fuel and parking. M54 jnc 4 is a small motorway services which can be very busy, but has a top carpark for additional parking. Happy to go with majority once more have confirmed. Richy how many are coming now?
  8. Weather better improve before Friday.
  9. +1 mud flaps for front are a must, stops spraying water into drivers face and saves back fibreglass wheel arch from high speed stones.
  10. Hi Kerry, not 100% sure yet it will depend on work.
  11. Tried to call and sent emails with no success yet.
  12. Hi, Looking for paint numbers/make to match the yellow fibreglass panel on GBS Zero. Tried a few now but they are all slightly different, anyone work in a body shop. Thanks in advance.
  13. I have tuner wheel nuts on mine, you need to check the alloys have a taper and not flat. Most do these days but worth checking. On mobile version of Rhocar so dont know where you are if local happy to remove one for testing.
  14. OK I used two rods in the olden days, but my local garage has a whizzy electronic system whilst caterham was in the system I thought I would check. Think I will go for zero for now and see how it handles. Thank you
  15. Whats that Richy?1. Swap gear boxes 2. Comes to members to fix problems 3. Part of the committee 4. Building small caravans 5. Organise spectacular event for club members 6. Doing large scale winter projects Anything else! Grateful for your support and commitment to Rhoca and members. Thank you

    Mx5 Engine And Box

I do not know of a 2B conversion but it must be possible, almost everything is with these cars.
  18. I always say buy cheap and pay twice! Consider your time, effort and value. I get three quotes for work on the house and go for middle quote every time.
  19. Well I must be weird but I like the spare wheel look, not saying I would carry a jack or anything else. Just like the look.
  20. Hi Derek, Not exactly the same I change from Ford crossflow to ST170, have a look through some of my posts.
  21. Ah, not t that unusual with blacktops, some people fit a bypass thin coolant pipe to let air out and circulate coolant. Another method which I did with my retrofits water rail is to drill a few small jolted in the thermostat. Worth noting these engines are designed to run hot for emission targets, if you have fitted the original fan switch but another that will come on earlier.
  22. I would not trust the gauge, but try the basics first. What do you have?
  23. Machine mart always have a good selecting personally I would go for a bigger vice and make sure you buy the soft grips for more delicate work. They only make these in a few sizes.
  24. Sorry, Working in Basingstoke and London this week.

    Zetec Rattle

Still scratching my head with you, first thought is still a lazy tappet have you use engine flush I know you have changed the oil. Not sure of your fuelling system so I wonder if an injector is worn they can make a sort of clicky noise, could be similar to a rattle, easy to test and remove remove injector plug. What ignition system/ECU do you used, any risk of pinking caused by pre-ignition? Who mapped you car? What about vibration or heat expansion, exhaust guards, CAT (is CAT breaking up) and not uncommon on Zetec’s overtighten cam cover and dissimilar expansions. Take cam cover off and check for over heating/excessive wear on cam lobe, could be blocked or at least reduced oil supply. Have you checked oil pressure, if the engine had a hard life or unknown history worth checking pressure at different rev range. Timing belt can become a little loose, and move against cam cover causing a noise when moving forward and backwards, double check the tensioner settings. Also the tensioners and idlers are 5hit, hence why you get a new one when you change the belt it does not stop cowboys from just changing the belt, worth checking they fall apart from inside out for bearing or outside in with plastic wheel breaking up. Finally before I give up oil could be too thin 5/30w and causing cam lobe slap or rattle, worth trying a thicker oil my preferred option for cold engine use break-in oil/lube such as moly paste whilst you have the cam cover off checking the other parts - instant silence! Hope these help, if not I would have to be there to hear it for myself.
