  1. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/kitbuilt-vehicles section 6 form V627/1 - ‘Built up vehicle inspection report’ https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/278783/V627X1_270913.pdf doesn’t list steering column, does list "steering assembly", hhhhmmmmmmmm, that’s the rack, isn't it? and we never break the speed limit either

    Any Ideas?

    Crank position signal?
  3. superspec wiring diagram is for a Ford motor the Lucas (mini) type used a Lucas switch with a cut off for the park to prevent fuses blowing. I know the Sierra switch can provide this, but have not seen the Focus switch Does this look of any use? not sure of year you are using ftp://ftp.idm.ru/pub/ffclub/2003_5_Focus_WD.pdf
  4. Whitch wiper motor are you using
  5. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11598108/Ford_Sierra_Service_And_Repair_Manual.pdf any use?
  6. just need a flex from calliper to chassis mount between the top wishbone mounts, may need an adaptor for the calliper though. simple is best, fewer the connections the better.
  7. that type hooks into the top and bottom rad core ends, usually stays put, but cable tie to be sure.
  8. Mentioned it to them today, they are going to look for your emails, but they say their "system" says there is nothing outstanding, don,t trust "systems" myself, would try again. for gr8nomad, there is a technical site now.
  9. As above, bike carbs need more work to set correctly, RR only, and a RR that knows bike carbs. It is not just a case of opening main jet as some seem to think.
  10. Assume you are referring to the chassis plate http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=445&search=Plate http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=726&search=Plate There is a more direct email to GBS itself http://www.greatbritishsportscars.co.uk/contact/ Or directly to the marketing people Ruth.hall@greatbritishsportscars.co.UK Got to talk to them anyway, will mention hoodies in the colonies :-)
  11. zero box conversion uses master cylinder used originally on 2b Ford which is the Sierra, No servo.
  12. Penny washer either side of panel, even alloy, will suffice. The add is for the outer trim washer, covers the nut part of the pipe.
  13. just had a look at your last pic rear light look OK as long as correct colours and visible at correct angles, fog light must have an e OR E mark and the letter B OR F on the lens are you aware your dash may not comply? see manual section 12 item 7, for "non rigid material" see note 6
  14. A quick look here http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp, shows that any manufacturer can get it wrong. The difference here is that kits and their manufacturers do not have any recall system, and before SVA/IVA did not even need much checking to get on the road. You can not rely on the MOT, that is a visual inspection, and from the pictures that started the topic it is clear that the offending part was hidden by some sort of sealer. Whilst I must agree with Snapperpaul, some comments are less than helpful and only cause aggravation, and understandable defensive responses, should we also be realistic, for many who know about a vehicle, have built them, maintain them and are aware of their limitations and issues, the car will be perfectly safe and will continue to perform to its design characteristics. For those that do not? particularly when there are those that are prepared to hide problems, possibly serious, life threatening problems?. Who is most likely to end up with those vehicles?, probably the least prepared to own them. Should we not be more open about this model? and as Sapperpaul has rightly pointed out, it is not the only vehicle that have known issues of poor design or component failure, and inform of measures and solutions to keep the kit car world, and by that, the general road going public, safe. Equally should we deplore and possibly sanction those that are prepared to put others at risk by hiding faults or keeping silent? This time the only injury is to alanh65 bank balance, and knowing steamers work I have no doubt that it will end better than it could have done. JMHO
  15. Could blame android pad, but it is usually pilot error ☺
  16. It looks like a case at assessing how much damage is done, if it can be repaired, permanently and or modified to increase strength, and safety, whether you need parts and there avalibility, and an informed and unsentimental decision made. Anything man made can be remade, its just down to it's viablility to do so. You have the basis of another Sierra based kit already, a good part of the cost. So the 3 may be prove to be dead, but maybe something can rise from its asses, so to speak. Hope it is not a total loss to the breed, I wish you luck.
  17. looking at your second picture the saddle appears to be there, but that does not mean it is not worn
  18. Good welder may be able to get it back together, looks like the joint has been sealed with something, probably why you did not see the beginnings of the failure. according to this http://nw.rhocar.org/identification.htm its a known problem.
  19. There is nothing to stop you fitting it, it is not a requirement. The book says it "may" be fitted not that it has to be.
  20. as long as you have it working, just seems a bit of a faff, an unnecessary gimmick to go wrong. JMO
  21. I'd say black onto 1 yellow on 3, 2 to the rear fog. If it works the wrong way round swap wire 1 and 3. loop from 2 to Led terminals is to provide warning light, you will require earth on the other led terminal. had a look at the carteck web site, bit naughty, marketing it as an IVA requirement.
  22. No offence, as you know, always open to debate, and a beer, so am fully aware of problem :-)
  23. Hi Sapperpaul, your original post, before edit, was emailed me. turnip farmer asked about the position of the spring adjuster ring on the damper cylinder as a measure of ride height.
  24. Sorry for delay, forgot to follow subject, so no email. I would have to measure which is difficult in current situation. But you are right with the rear wheels. I was advised that the height is set high for transportation and test, and only to worry about ride height and geometry when it is going onto the road. According to forum, you need height to ease trailor loading, and to stop grounding on test lane, particularly the sump in the rollers, helps with indicator heigh to.
  25. If I have read your question right, that measurement will differ from car to car. Depends on ride height and vehicle corner weight, may even differ side to side on the same vehicle. If wrong, I apologise.
