  1. must be size and location for a very good reason ?
  2. this is what GBS use to glue everything on a zero, including front wings, but taking 2bcrusing's point, they may be different size stays http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=217&search=sealant
  3. I would re read that thread, a Q plate will not help at MOT
  4. oil pressure warning light is not IVA requirement, just more obvious your oil pressure has failed.
  5. Left looks wrong. Not aware that manufacturers have ever added colourant to brake fluid. so would guess contamination of some kind. Was it out of sealed bottle ?
  6. would agree, you dont have the zero exhaust, so mapping would be required on your setup.
  7. free maps are included with Emerald from GBS, not other ECU's or Emerald from eleswhere admitadly. they are not loaded as standard, but can be emailed and simply loaded in. RR session is therefore NOT required, although throttle to map needs calibrating.
  8. "special" was a nicer term for "cut and shunt" which is not everyones cup of tea, but certainly doable. ECU including power and emmision maps http://www.kitspares...=680&search=ecu £714 P&P engine loom, http://www.kitspares...11&search=zetec £316.60 extra 41 bhp, purpose built, less work. and from your figures just over £700 more. You pay your money and you take your choice , possible less satisfying though.
  9. Ford ECU will require special loom, if you miss something it will go into limp mode, even if it dosen't it will never get the power an after market ECU can. think factory "standard" is there for a reason?

    Diff

designed for special tools, but adjustment procedure simple enough, just follow manual.
  11. depends what power you want. standard ECU will give standard power, Focus Zetec 128, acording to http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/ford/focus/hatchback-1998 After market ECU will give more but RR will be required, not cheap. for comparison Jenveys http://www.jenvey.co.uk/products2/throttle-body-kits/ford-zetec-tbp45-throttle-body-kit-ckfd03 176 ATR http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=_8&product_id=556&car= unknow AT http://beta.atpowerthrottles.com/product_info.php/ford-zetec-45mm-p-59 176 GBS plenham http://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=_8&product_id=628&car= 169 on same Zetec engine
  12. center is 12volt + outer two are trigged to earth by ECU pin 1A and 12A, violet and yellow, acording to Omex 600 diagram
  13. because windscreens are one item and glass is another, just because a windscreen is made of glass does not mean it is considered the same as glass. removal of glass, with obvious signs it has been removed is a fail, it does not refer to windscreens. to elaberate on previous, private builds do not have the same requirement as proffesional builds at this time. BS is still OK for private builds, not factory, the deadline has been extended twice, but will end at some point. E mark is OK for private builds, but is not current standard for factory and to get new car status.
  14. if you are sure you comply, then why not go with the screen. factory do not fit demist, so you can understand why they wouldn't go with one fitted. they do fit washers and wiper mechanism, just not the screen.

    Kwik Fit

that is Kwick Fit business model, as with a lot of garages, they are paid on what they sell, the cheap up front prices for service etc are to bring you in in the first place. If they haven't permission, to do work, they have no business doing it. I would do as gazzaf says. One of the reasons I am no longer in the main stream motor trade.
  16. if you have changed the TPS have you calibrated it in the ECU?
  17. but you dont have points, so puzzeled.
  18. can I ask what benefit the accuspark will give, assuming the Ford system is functioning, is this not replacing electronic ignition with electronic ignition? or have completely got it wrong? wouldn't be surprised.
  19. as shaft says, beat me to it again. they are a type of locking nut (one use only) nylock and thread lock, not required again not necessary would add, ball joint under wishbone not on top.
