    Misfire

If it is injectors, it would run worse under heavy load, so high revs, accelerating etc. Which fits what you are saying, plus if it is the fuel line breaking down, it could be even though the LP filter is clear. Also LP filters alone arent good enough for fuel injection as they generally arent as fine a filter. As for the R9 fuel hose, I'd still remove some and check it, there was a lot of fake stuff knocking about, even from reputable retailers! Even though it is better than the older spec hoses, its also still not completely ethanol proof, so will deteriorate over time.

Why no high pressure fuel filter? These are critical to stop any crap getting into and blocking your injectors. Do you not what grade your fuel hose is? With modern unleaded having an amount of ethanol in, if your rubber lines are not ethanol safe they can break down fairly rapidly, which combined with no high pressure fuel filter would cause your injectors to become blocked.
  3. I assume you have a monocoque with inboard suspension? In which case around 120lb is recommended.

    SLK Donor?

I’m sure there is someone using the kompressor engine, let me see if I can find it
  8. Correct, best welding them to the dummy strut.
  9. I know! Think I paid £10 for mine
  10. We had always had gas until we moved into the new house and we have a ceramic one now, it took some getting used to and learning what settings were required etc but its fine now we are used to it. Having used induction in a couple of holiday cottages we've stayed in I would much prefer one though as they were much more user friendly.
  11. These are them, but note they come in two different styles for different wheel offsets and that price is per side! I bought mine used and they worked great. https://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1164
  12. Mine looks quite different now, but the underpinnings are all still the same. As for cycle wings, I used 2b ones on mine before moving to the current bodywork and they worked well.
  13. Sounds like you have a similar car to what mine started life as.
  14. As Patrick and Accuspark have said, the accuspark is a complete standalone setup, it uses good old fashioned weights and springs for advance, and of course vacuum for cruise/decel. Club members used to get discount too, the code will be the members discounts section.
  15. quite common. Just means needs the front lifting when you bleed the coolant
  16. Any difference would be negligible
  17. Most of them are. I remember on mine he was going to fail my front indicators due to angle of visibility. I mentioned I was surprised as I was certain i had checked and double checked they would pass as they were, so he double checked the manual for me and realised had actually got it wrong and based on their height from the ground the angle of visibility requirement was different and so they passed.
  18. I am really surprised you have been pulled up on it tbh, there was a lot of discussion around it when that wording came in and I am sure that someone had an official response from DVSA that basically it didnt apply in the way it had been interpreted and no change was intended, or some such thing.
  19. You are the first person I have heard of that has been failed on this! I thought there was some clarification that it didnt apply the way in which it seemed to be worded, certainly I remember being concerned about it but was told at IVA it didnt apply. Anyway, yes, that box is the solution. Or you could use a VAG rotary swtich for control of the lights and foglights as that is also compliant if you wire them correctly.
  20. Worth speaking to the MOT station, as Richy said, they should fail it, but worth checking.
  21. Glad to hear it was a simple fix!
