The only issue I can think of is if you are looking to get an age related registration number. You would then need to show proof of the minimum number of parts from the original donor vehicle, or alternatively you would need to provide proof of the minimum number of new parts for a new reg number. Either way I don't imagine an LSD will make any difference to the IVA test ............................ however, somebody may know otherwise

Raising the seat height wont be an issue. Currently the seat is bolted to a frame which is 20mm off the floor and the frame is bolted to cross members in the chassis that are pre drilled, hence the specific dimensions. By using runners, the seat frame wont be used so the difference will be minimal if at all. The car is a MEV TR1ke Mike

One thing to think about is that seat runners will raise your seat about 1 inch. It does not sound much but put some packing on the seat and evaluate the view through the windscreen, where is the top rail? The screen can be raised but any hood will then also need adjusting. As someone the looks out through the top of the windscreen I am aware of it when driving. I have run out of adjustment. Also what car do you have as that can change advice.

Hi all, Just got my new toy and starting to fiddle with it to make it just how I want it. The car has GRP seats and they are a little too far back for me. I would like to use adjustable runners/sliders whatever they are called! Currently, the seat is bolted to a frame through the seat base which is bolted to the floor. I'd rather not drill the floor so looking for a solution to use the existing mountings on the floor pan. I have no ability to weld or fabricate but can turn a ratchet from a socket set with some success!!!!! The holes in the floor pan are 275mm side to side and 330mm apart longways. I think, from what ive read im better off with a twin locking system rather than single sided as its more secure. Does anyone know of a suitable product I can install that would work with these dimensions? I've seen a lot of seat runners that state a maximum length of 310mm. Is that the plate or the amount of adjustment???? I hope there is a product out there that I can simply bolt into the existing holes and then bolt my seat to it. I look forward to your product suggestions and expertise.

Can, or perhaps should I install a LSD before IVA? I am looking at a quaife ATB kit for my open Sierra 7" diff and would prefer to build in from start if possible. Is it allowed and are there any cons?

Thank you Foz! Yes really fun to drive! Even if overtaking with RH drive in a LH country Is a bit challenging some times and this Monday I will start with changing the fuel pump and playing with the carbs a bit. After that probably the cooling system, but step by step the summer is started and I want to drive it a bit more, also I need to learn a few things before starting to works on it

Congratulations on getting it sorted. Now it's welcome to the world of kit cars where there is always something that needs doing, or something you want to change on the car, but always fun to drive it

Finally, after almost a year of burocracy between the department for transport and the historic cars registry, I'm the owner of the Robin hood 2b of my previous post. Now I need to start working on it, I used it this week almost as a daily driver. But it need some works, it's running quite hot and the carbs need some tuning, but I'm happy to finally be able to drive it

After a successful Dirty Duck Camping weekend earlier this year we have decided to hold a second Dirty Duck Camping Weekend for 2025. The event is open to anyone who wishes to join Sharon and myself for the weekend, we are expecting to see all the usual suspects and it would be lovely to see some new faces, The camp site is next to a Canal side pub. and Belvoir Castle is a 5 minute drive where you can get food and drinks along with visiting the Castle. The date for the event is Thursday 21st August 2025 to Monday 25th 2025 as it’s a bank holiday weekend. We have booked pitch 3 from Thursday to Monday. I suggest booking early to get pitches in the same area to the left of the site, link to Booking and site plan We will be eating in the Pub on site Friday evening and it would be great if you could join us, we will be happy to book your table and place your order nearer the time. The club will be funding a BBQ on the Saturday evening for members, along with a Quiz. A run is planed on Saturday to The Great British car journey DE56 2HE Please keep us updated on which pitches you have booked. Hoping to see you this year , Sharon & Kerry
