    Vacuum advance

Have you tried starting itbwith easy start or similar? If so and it still won’t start, try new spark plugs or if you have one of those little hand held gas torches, give the current ones a going over with that.

    Vacuum advance

Ok new day, new problem. Car wont start. So i hadent even got round to swapping the distributor as ive been away for a while, but the other day i decided id give the car a run. Its always started easily enough before but now :(. So car sat for roughly 2 month, nothing done to it but it has sat for this long before and always started again. Things ive checked... 1)spark. Cleaned all connections and checked the spark. It has spark. 2)fuel. Drained old fuel and added new. 3)battery. Nearly new battery i left on charge overnight. Fully charged. 4)timing. Lined engine up tdc, nothing changed. Marks still line up. The engine (2l pinto) is just turning over. It makes no attempt to start. Any one any ideas what the problem could be? Am i missing something stupidly simple thats stopping it from starting? Any help appreciated thankyou!

Can I fit an bmw engine??

These guys did do a kit specially designed for the E36 engine. I saw them at the Stoneleigh show back in 2015 and the kit looked good. However, the chassis they designed was particularly large (bigger even than my Zero GT), presumably for the reasons Stu has mentioned. But you could give them a call? Not sure if they're still doing the kit, even though it is mentioned on the website...

Can I fit an bmw engine??

Despite being a big 7, the s7 has surprisingly little room for anything. There are 3 issues I foresee with a bmw setup: - the engines are slanted over, making them very wide for an inline engine and landing the head where your master cylinder will want to live. - the 6 cylinders are long, if you have inboard shocks, possibly too long. - you’d want, and be right, to use the donor bmw gearbox, but the opening into the transmission tunnel on the s7 is narrow, and you will likely struggle to get it in. A ford type 9 only just fits other than this issues, a bmw setup would be a super option, but I think your original idea of an mx5 setup is probably going to be much much easier

Can I fit an bmw engine??

Hi I have just bought my first kit car being a Robin Hood s7 as a rolling shell! I’ve been looking at an mx5 18 thinking can get a hole car cheap an have everything or there abouts to get finished! But have just come across a very good bmw e36 at the right price just wondering if anyone has done it or seen it done! Thanks in advance scott

    Anyone know?

You probably want a Vinyl material for a boot cover as it's easier to clean and 100% waterproof: https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/category/110/expanded-vinyl or https://www.williammarstonltd.co.uk/product-category/vinyl/ For surrey tops you'd use the hooding material which is like a woven fabric.

Help Please Pinto Misfire At 4000Rpm

If you have standard Pinto injection and Ford ecu and it’s all running well and you have a vernier cam I would suggest you have an FR34 injection cam which has the same valve overlap but more lift. a good simple way to get more out of an injection Pinto pull the rocker cover off and look st the back end of the cam, it will have letters and numbers stamped into the end which will tell you what cam you have. firring an aftermarket ecu will not make any noticeable difference and you would only need that if the cam was more aggressive and the engine not running well.

    Little Jobbies

Little Jobbies turn into big Jobbies.... This started out as a relatively small Jobbie, i.e. fitting new cycle wings to Gladys...small kerchiing Decided the existing bracketry resembled something that had been discarded during the refurbishment of the Iron Bridge at Telford... After much deliberation and research I decided upon a set of well made MK sports car brackets...bigger kerching I had to spray said brackets using Frosts Chassis paint. During this process I decided it would be a jolly good idea to respray the remainder of the suspension assembly...slightly bigger kerching.... In order to make respray easier I have to remove coil over suspension units.....coil compressors and much sphincter twitch... Decide it ill be a good idea to swop out crappy existing suspension units... even bigger mega kerching. or BIG JOBBIE
