  1. I raised my engine by fitting a low profile filler cap and fitting the breather pipe to the back of the cam cover. I also fitted a sump guard using 6mm aluminium chequer plate. I've left a gap between the guard and sump to let air flow over the sump to aid cooling.

    Project Valtezza

Engineering and fabrication every time or me! Like seeing engineering solutions to problems so keep up the good work!
  3. There were cases of this in America where people were collecting motorcycles and paying by PayPal then telling PayPal they never had the goods. PayPal was then refunding the money. I would ask for cash if you go through with it!

    Project Valtezza

I'm really looking forward to this build! Like the jig idea.
  5. If you do this, check your insurance as my car has to be in my garage after 10pm if it's on my property or it's not covered by the insurance.
  6. The clarke equivalent grinder runs at 135rpm on the 200mm wet wheel and 2960rpm on the 150mm dry wheel.
  7. Is this any help? http://www.rwdmotorsport.com/adapter-plate-for-ford-bellhousing-to-2-8-ford-gearbox.html
  8. I believe that the spacer is 20mm thick

    Megajolt

Mines under the dash as well, I use a long serial extension cable with an end to suit the megajolt. Then a serial to USB adaptor.
  10. The washer is very thin and easily missed, it's held in place by the pivot pin. You can knock the pin out via a hole in the rear of the bell housing. It's hardened and takes the clutch arm load onto the housing. I couldn't get the anti rattle sleeve as a separate item ( it looks like a piece of plastic tube) so I bought a replacement pin at the same time. Rob
  11. Have you checked the condition of the thin thrust washer on the clutch arm pivot pin in the bell housing? Mine was badly worn such that the arm had just started to cut into the housing, and also the anti rattle poly sleeve was cut through on mine. Got both from Burtons.
  12. Cornflake boxes aren't what they used to be, I find this recycled stuff is rubbish! (The diff needs a metal to metal seal anyway)
  13. I use hylomar blue or wellseal for metal to metal sealing
  14. Come on Duck, when's the next episode? I'm missing my weekly fix!

    Spare Parts

I'm interested in the gearbox, can I come over tomorrow? Rob
  16. The gloss finish is the coloured gelcoat that's applied first when laying up the guard in its mold. The stranded glass fibre is then put down on top of that. I think I would look for a replacement part as it would be easier than trying to repair it.
  17. Thanks. Yes, I see that now.
  18. What's the purpose of the large bell washer that goes on the large mounting bolt that fixes the tail housing to the rear mounting?
  19. Mines a Spal. The radiator manufacturer supplied it as they were the only ones they recommended
  20. Thanks Jaimo, looking at upgrading the laptop but just wanted to make sure that the software would work!
  21. Does anyone know if the Megajolt configuration software works ok on windows 10?
  22. I think there's an article on this in one of the kitcar magazines this month, not sure which.
  23. Enthusiasm for getting back in the garage and changing the gearbox and then finishing the other winter mods! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
