  2. Hi Dino, its a Ford !.6 Unipart camshaft kit, found it in an old catalogue.
  3. I think a 660 mile round trip will be a bit much for a day out !!! Its a shame as I was looking forward to the Donnington w/e, the "North " seems to be getting more isolated as far as events go so we may have to look at some of our local events to fill the gaps.
  4. Ford Galaxy runs an electric water pump on the diesel version for the auxiliary heater in the back, it is mounted by the wipers under the bonnet.
  5. Hi Harry, the number is Stamped on exhaust side of engine, halfway up block, on machined area, beside engine mount. Hope that helps. Alan

  7. I bought a set from Dave just after Xmas, I was very impressed with the delivery and quality of the tyres . I had them fitted last week and I haven't had a chance to try them properly till today as the roads were greasy. Today was dry but cold and I have to say these are the best tyres I have ever had to suit my style of driving, the grip is excellent and when they do break away it is all very controlled, the side wall seen to give the car a better ride over rough roads and potholes. These tyre get a big thumbs up from me.
  8. See you all there, if we are not all snowed in !!!!!

    Run Out

saturday- start work on the car? nah, went for a run out instead...... Sunday- start work on the car? nah went for a run out instead I will start my jobs to do list tomorrow..
  11. I wouldn't use any tyre with any damage to the side wall, and it would be a MOT failure.
  12. f you need someone to run it in and try it out I am willing to help you out !!!! nice looking engine.
  13. Hi Norman, I will come down and see you all for the meal, just let me know a time. I am coming by myself at the moment but if anyone wants to go and needs a lift let me know. Alan
  14. my bonnet isn't a stainless one but it has two hoops made out of alloy curtain rail which are rivited at the edge folds and then "Sikaflex" adhesive used to keep it in place round the bonnet. This gives me a bonnet that can be lifted on and off without any flexing.
  15. As the seller is dealing in cars, see his feedback, then any advert has to comply with the Trades Descriptions Act, and since about 70% of the advert is untrue I would think that the local Trading Standards Office would be quite interested.
  16. "Shame about the low sun though". I bought some ski goggles to see if that would help but the sun never stayed out long enough to try them, never mind there are plenty of similar days to come before the spring.
  17. Went for a run out in the Exmo, lovely clear day, next to no traffic, 5degrees when I set off but cooler when the sun went in-I had to put my coat and hat on!!!. I went down the coast to the mouth of the Tyne then followed it inland crossing various bridges on the way with no set route just enjoying the drive and ending up at Hexham. I took a slow run home on mainly single track roads and ended up as muddy as the car, 65 really good miles.
  18. Well done, great to hear of another Robin Hood on the road. Get planning for the trip to Stoneleigh great place to show off your handiwork.

    Mazda Option

    Something like this perhaps:- .http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251678446716?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  22. You didn't follow the numbers properly its the "fallen Madonna with the big boobies"
  23. Pleased you got it sorted, as you say it's good to gain a bit knowledge at the same time!
  24. There is two ways of looking at this, sentiment v's hard cash. To get the Exmo through am IVA is going to mean stripping it back down and taking photos as it is rebuilt, which is fine but if you are paying some-one to do this it is going to cost a fortune. At the end of the day when you get the car through the test, what is it actually worth, I paid £2800 for mine last year, taxed and on the road. The other alternatives are to sell it as a unfinished project or as individual items the latter being to most likely to raise the most money as parts are getting hard to get hold of. It is going to be a hard decision but if it were me I would sell the bits and buy a complete car and then put my stamp on it.
  25. If it's the frame hitting the mount cover, can you not unbolt seat from the runner and position it further back using some flat bar and then attach to runners?
