    Bmw X1

My last company car was an X1. It was the diesel powered 2 wheel drive version. Can't remember the exact model number. I towed our caravan, 19 foot 4 berth Coachman with out any problems. It returned up to 50mpg on a run and about 30mpg when towing. I had it for 4 years without any problems other than it being rubbish in snow like any rear wheel drive BMW.
  2. I'll be there if the weather holds out. Only about 20 mins away.
  3. I'm working away again so yet again I wont be there. I can just about remember what some of you look like!
  4. I plan to arrive Saturday and will always lend a hand.
  5. I used the Diff flange as well. Works fine.
  6. Card and stickers (2) arrived. Well done guys.
  7. It can't be a 2b if its a stainless mono type. The 2b has tubular framework. The inboard suspension suggests that it is a 3A like mine.
  8. R1 carbs on my 2.1 Pinto. 1.8 jets using the original mechanical fuel pump with a pressure regulator. Always a bit lumpy until the engine warms up. Theirs not a lot to go wrong with them. Check the diaphragms carefully. Once you get them set up they are fine. I put the bike carbs on to replace the twin 45 webers which often required fiddling with.
  9. sadly working away again
  10. You've got a good car there Chris.
  11. Come anyway, kit car or tin top. See you at the camp site .
  12. Does anyone want to meet up at Trowell Services M1 on saturday for the run to Stoneleigh? If so how does 11 O'clock sound?

    R1 Carbs

Have you fitted a fuel pressure regulator? The bike carbs don't like too much pressure.

    Stoneleigh

The roadworks on the Coventry bypass are also finished. I went through the other day and the road now dips under the large roundabout. No messing!
  15. Working away again. See you all at Stoneleigh all being well.
  16. Lovely run out and nice to meet up and have a chat with friends. Nice cakes and coffee too. Thanks GBS.
  17. Might pop along in the morning if the rain holds off, and if the kit fires up!
  18. All the best for a speedy recovery. As already said a car can be replaced, a life cannot.
  19. Working away, again. I,ll be in the wilds of Wales.
  20. Congratulations and best wishes to you both.
  21. There are lots of posts on the forum regarding this problem. The V5 log book should state what the car is ie A Robin Hood S7. It should also have its own VIN on it somewhere. The potential problem is if you were to have an accident and needed to make a claim. Like most, sorry all, insurance companies they would do whatever they could to avoid paying out. An incorrectly registered vehicle is a perfect excuse for them.
  22. How could you have missed him? We were outside pointing at cars.
  23. Should be able to make this one. Unless work mucks it up. Not away at present.
  24. Sorry guys, I,m going to have to miss this one after all. My wife is ill and I think I need to stay home. I have sent Alan the joining number for the show so if anyone want to go then please ask Alan for the number. (I don't think it would be fair just to print it in this message.)
