    You need to check the continuity back to the ecu from all sensors there are 2 large conectors that may be old and not connecting back to the ecu Have you got a haynes man i have a pdf if you dont i could send you on e mail Stephen

  9. yes had to cut a hole in ceiling then fill in Stephen
  10. Do you still have the the bit you cut out it will fit in the hole with a patch on the back several layers as support then filler around the edge. bit like a hole in ceiling repair but no screws. then cut new hole. Stephen

  16. You will need 2 multi plugs some wire and tremanales a crimp tool heat shrink and a wiring diagram off old clocks also a set of warning lights. nice project for winter. summer now so drive it Stephen

  18. On my DOHC 8V and now the zetec I have an expansion bottle fed from the thermostat and a T from the rad overflow to the top small pipe plumbed as Ford had never a problem. Rad needs a second seal on rad cap. Stephen
  19. A 3.2 mm drill is very easy to snap so Eye protection is a must Stephen
  20. I think What was the last thing changed /done can only point to wrong calpers supplied. Richard had problems with so called re con calipers on his sons carfor iva. Stephen

    Oil On Plugs

    The valves seal the combustion chamber. The stem seals are above this in the valve guides in the head so can not affect a compression test. Oil is pumped to the head to lube the cam and return to the sump through oil ways. Worn stem seals let it seap to the back of the valve and enter the combustion chamber when inlet valves open or is pushed out of exhust when exhust open. Hope this helps Stephen
  24. John Tig welding does not transfer as much heat as mig When i had sleves fitted to the rear hoop to fit tow bracket i went to remove bits and got told not to all went well was a prow welder as well. so a few quid on a prow job may save a lot of work stephen
