  2. Next Wednesday 29th, 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL. Generally they're trying to kick us out just after 930pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. Also, if you want to eat, book beforehand as they don't normally let people just rock up and eat. Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. Everyone welcome. See you there.
  3. That’s great! thanks for the info on that. I might give them a go and see how they get on! Cheers

  5. Most 2Bs had (or ended up with) coil overs on the rear. GBS still do the adapters that go in the bottom of the roll bar tube and Gaz coil-overs. https://kitspares.co.uk/collections/all/products/copy-of-robin-hood-front-wing-bracket-et35-os https://kitspares.co.uk/collections/all/products/2b-shock-absorber-set#description A few years ago I contacted them and they were happy to sell me just the rear pair of coil-overs when one of mine had sprung a leak. I don't know if they would still do that.
  6. As per Bob, is this what you're looking for? https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/sierra-master-cylinder-brass-remote-reservoir-adapter
  7. Unless I am mistaken that is a zimeride (did I spell that right?) which were a robin hood modification of shock fitted to rubber suspension minis (British Leyland version not BMW version) Why there is a double spring fitted I dont know but it appears strange. As for sliding pillar I understand that they were stripped out of the doner front struts, I think that there are Utube 2B build videos showing how to do this allong with all the rest of the build. Richard S certainly did everything he could to keep build costs down. Ian
  8. I might be wrong but I don't think that is a sliding pillar setup. sorry jumped the gun a bit didn't read the post correctly.
  9. Have a look at CBS Car Builder Solutions they sell remote kits.
  10. As part of the GBS Remote Brake Reservoir Kit they sell push on Outlets, https://kitspares.co.uk/collections/all/products/remote-brake-reservoir-kit these are the only parts I need do anybody if anybody sells them separately
  11. Have you tried Kit Spares/GBS? Pretty sure they still sell the proper panels for a 2B?
  12. Agree with Woolies, as they are quite near me (and you, Market Deeping) Also both of them will almost certainly have a stand at Malvern Kit Car Show on 1/2nd Jun All the trim on my car just clips onto the sharp edge and doesn't need any adhesive.
  13. It was some years ago, and I'm not sure I fully understood my mechanic when we decided to replace the bushes on the front suspension of my Superspec (one was an advisory on the MOT but we decided to replace all 4). When he pulled out the old ones he was a bit surprised and said they were very hard and really used just for racing, not toddling along. I presented hime with 2 replacement sets, The first was from KitSpares (GBS) for £8.70 The others were from Powerflex and were polyurethene and I think they cost around £25. He was a bit concerned that the Kit Spares ones were a bit soft, so he used the PowerFlex ones. So far they are working well.
  14. Hi i have the sliding pillar front suspension, does anyone know where I can get new parts from or a service kit etc. also does anyone recognise the pic of the rear shock absorber

Just a "bump" for this - anyone else interested or any other comments ?
  16. Yes, I doubt that they would fit. The 2B's tubular chassis wasn't what you'd call "standard" size so I'd definitely measure everything at least twice first.
  17. CBS do a wide range of trim and adhesives https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/trim Woolies is also worth a look https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-17-trimmings There are a couple of places on eBay as well but you'd have to search for them - sorry, I can't remember their names. Hope this helps, Steve
  18. Thanks for the reply, I am getting that feeling as well! That's a very good point. The bushes I removed hadn't been changed since the mid 90s and they still seemed very serviceable still, it almost seemed a shame removing them! the lack of experience in using poly might be quite telling that there simply isn't a need for such a harsh bush on a light car. I think I'll stick to the OEM one! Cheers
  19. A reminder that the meeting will be at the Church Mouse, Chester Moor DH23RJ, looking forward to seeing a good turnout.
  20. Hi All. I am looking to replace some of the rubber trim around my 2B, e.g. bulkhead to bonnet seating, bonnet/metal edge trim, etc. as although appearance is good some of it is now a little loose. Any suggestions, recommendations for good quality, good fit items and sources? And what is used to stick the bulkhead/bonnet trim on?
  21. As no one has replied to this yet I expect there may be little experience of using poly. The Oem ones seem to last about 30 years, I’m sure that a bit of flex helps in the ever changing geometry of a semi trailing arm arrangement too.

  23. The 2B is large for a severn inspired car. I suspect that the panels will end up not fitting, if you have a 2B then check things like rear panel width against equinox panels.
  24. Up for this as I'm sure Dean will be as well. Obviously the weather will play a bit part so really want to do it in a month which usually has decent weather too limit chance of rain

I'd be interested, depending on dates/etc... although at the moment the car is off the road, but should be back up and running soon...
  26. Can you add me and Jackie please.
  27. Hi, does anyone know if the body panels from a haynes roadster are compatible (with fettling) to fit on a RH 2b I am looking at the kits and parts from equinox group and they look really good TIA Ian
