Pinto Problem

Right head done

Valves relapped

New valve stem seals

Head back on new gasket bolts and torgued correc

wudnt start so checked spark okay

Fuel ok

So checked compressions

60 psi on all 4

What the hell is going on

Think time to walk away

Any ideas guys

As everything done by the book

Job done hundreds of time

Stu with me at time of doing it so was all double checked

Just wondering if the diesel i used cleaned the bores too well now needs oil round them

Ive had a similar problem with my redtop once in the past.

My cylinder pressures were all between 210 & 220 psi,

then performance started to drop off drastically.

Compression tests eventually showed 130 &

it turned out the inlet vernier pulley had slipped & advanced the

cam by about 8 degrees. Luckily with no damage.

Resetting it to the marks I had marked on the vernier

got the pressures back to 210+ & the engine was back to its

hairy old self.

Double check the cam timing...if its out your inlet & exhaust will both be wrong.

Right oil in bores compressions double back to as it was before removed head so i believe the diesel i put in bores cleaned them too well

So charge battery bit more and go for start again

I will report back soon
