    Road Tax

Changes in taxation system only affect cars registered after 1st April 2017
  2. My car's on agreed value (at no extra charge on the premium). It should stop any arguments on payout amount in the event of a total write off. Our neighbour had real problems when his Subaru limited edition was stolen. Even the ombudsman was no help.
  3. Just measured my original doors. The frames seem to be made from 15mm x 3mm steel strip with the hinge end being 20mm x 3mm

    Wet Weather Set For 2B

    http://www.cordek.com/products/correx See this for info
  5. I like this forum!! You learn something every day! I run a megajolt so have never considered what effect dwell has.
  6. I've had 3 instances where the petrol has gone stale and caused starting problems, changing the fuel cured them. (Never had problems with the old leaded petrol). How long ago was it running ok? Have you timed the camshaft and distributor correctly when you changed the gasket? Could also be a stuck carb float.
  7. Is this any use? http://www.dtec.net.au/Ignition%20Coil%20Dwell%20Calibration.htm
  8. According to the ngk website the standard gap for the 2.0 pinto is 0.6 mm but I run with a wider gap
  9. Forgot, I haven't got a brake servo on my car!
  10. As above, I would say that confirms that the alternator is drawing the current. Thats a faulty diode in the alternator.
  11. Tractor, a couple of posts on locust forum for the st170 suggest you should expect 160 psi
  12. At the top of the shaft somewhere under the servo is a bolt with locknut which secures the extension shaft clamp to the triangular part of the steering column. Remove the nut, then the bolt and swivel the top part of the clamp away (it swivels on a large rivet). The top end of the extension shaft then comes away for you to get better access. On my 3A I have to turn the manifold as I remove it to get it out. I used the "titanium" wrap which does not make you itch. I soaked it first then put it on, securing it with stainless clips.
  13. What system have you got? I can get my exhaust header off my pinto in my 3A without taking the head off, I undo the steering shaft at the top end to give a bit more room.

    More Wiring

I sometimes edit a copy of the photo and save it as a reduced file size jpeg but it's a pain
  15. I had to use one to time my. Kent cam accurately
  16. Email sent with photos
  17. This is how mine looked: http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=45305&do=findComment&comment=370679
  18. My original bonnet had reinforcing strips bonded to the inside to stiffen it but it still had a "wave" on the rear edge which I believe is caused by the louvres being pressed in. I cut another bonnet down the middle and used strong stainless piano hinge riveted down its length. It solved the problem.
  19. Anyone got a useable type 9 5 speed gearbox going cheap or got one that needs rebuilding?
  20. I like the fact it was registered as a GT Banana!
  21. The danst one isn't suitable as the angle is too great. Their page says: "The angle of this manifold is 20 degrees and thus NOT suitable for DCOE/DHLA carburettors"

    S7 Floor

Mine was like snappers but my wife still didn't like it so I fitted treated 12mm exterior ply inside to give a more solid feel. Happy with that unless it gets wet inside then lift them out and dry them off.
