  2. If you have more thread through the centre nut then the boss can't have been bottoming out on the tapered area of the shaft. You might need to pull the shaft out even further. Get the taper bottomed out first and the nut nipped down, then set the clearance to the steering lock assembly.
  3. The cam isn't a spacer and if the wheel boss is tightened down on to it, it'll split.
  4. I think you can slacken the steering shaft clamp on the triangular shaft and then pull the steering shaft up away from the switches a bit.
  5. and maybe reflect on the England performance?

  11. Next Wednesday , 7PM onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. Same format as last month - we can meet inside which is set out for tables of 4 to 6 people up to around 40 people. You must wear a mask when you enter and sign in with Track and Track app or give your details at the front desk. Once seated, masks can come off while you remain seated. It's table service only (we ordered drinks at the desk then sat down). After this you probably need to mask up and attract the barman's attention and he come to take your order then bring it to the table. If the weather is decent, we can meet outside and nip in to order drinks.
  12. A new event organised by a RHOCaR member at Owston Park Hotel and Golf Club near Doncaster DN5 0LP starting at 10am. Full details can be found in this thread: https://www.rhocar.org/index.php?/forums/topic/49701-car-show-sunday-8th-august-2021-doncaster
  13. I've added the date and location to the thread title so it stands out a bit more.
  14. It's on a taper and the centre holes can close up around the thread on the shaft. Put the nut back on and screw it down so the top is flush with the end on the shaft. This should leave a gap between the back of the nut and the boss. Grab hold of the boss an pull it towards you while you give the end of the shaft a few sharp taps with a hammer.
  15. I have been contacted by a former club member who has a car for sale - advert details provided by them are as follows: GBS Robin Hood 2B Sierra based Kit Car · Fitted with front wishbone suspension. · Adjustable coil over suspension all round. · 2 litre Pinto Engine with Weber 38 DGAS Carburettor fitted. · Good seats. · Side Doors. · Alloy Wheels and 4 good tyres. Has side screens (doors) - not pictured. Full 12 months MOT. Fully serviced including rebuilt Carburettor and new Cambelt fitted. In need of some further refinement. Happy to purchase a gift membership of RHOCAR for the new owner. The aim of the club is to help and support members during the build (and inevitable ongoing maintenance and modification) as well as to plan and organize a wide range of social and sporting events, from local area events to our national End of Year Bash! We have one of, if not the largest club stand at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh each year, and we definitely serve the best burgers! We also have stands at many other shows throughout the year all around the country. It's not just shows though, our active area secretaries and members arrange regular run outs and even longer trips including the ever popular Wales and Scotland trips. The Club produces four magazines a year, exclusively for club members. It is packed with news, events, articles, technical features and irreverent cartoons. The Club is an independent organisation, and although we have our roots as the Robin Hood Owners Club and Register, we are very much a club for all makes and model of kit car, so anyone can be a "Hoody", as it’s all about the state of mind, not the car you drive! Being a member of The UK Kit Car Club has many benefits above those already mentioned. Members benefit from discounted insurance with nearly all of the specialist kit car insurers, and often get a discount that is more than the membership fee itself. Membership also gets you full access to the forum, and a wide variety of other discounts, including discounts at Euro Car Parts. You'll also find other members are willing to go well above and beyond for anyone they see is in need of help, as long as they too are a member! So whether you own a Robin Hood, a GBS Zero, a Locost, an MK, a Westfield or a Caterham, all can benefit from joining, so what are you waiting for? £4500/Offers. Please call Debs on 07751 894662. Car in Leyland, Lancashire. Please call to make an arrangement to view. (Pictures taken elsewhere).
  16. I have recently been informed that club member Michael Edwards sadly passed away earlier this year following a short illness and I have passed on the club's condolences. His family are now looking to sell his car and would like to offer it through the club first. The car is a 2B wishbone, with Pinto and twin Weber carbs. It isn't currently IVA'd and Mick was still in the process of building it but from the photos below, it looks a well put together car that should go through IVA without too many problems. I understand that the windscreen and a cockpit cover are also with the car and the family have a folder of information to go with the car. They are looking for offers around £1500 for the car which seems pretty fair to me. They also have a towing dolly that could be available at extra cost if required. Ideally this car needs to go to someone who will continue the good work that already been done, IVA it and get out and enjoy it. it's located in South Staffs, near Wolverhampton. If anyone is genuinely interested, send me a PM with a contact number and I will put you in touch with the family.

  19. Well I've manage 3 different area meets in just 8 days, Leics, Warks / Worcs / West Mids and Staffs so some things must be returning to normal. Also managed to get to the camping weekend over the Bank Holiday and meet new Wilts / Hants / Dorset Area Secretary Tony Godden who seems to be making good progress getting things moving in that part of the country. A few new members joined us in May and they are listed below, welcome to them and also thanks to the many people who have renewed their memberships for another year.
