  1. It's the original filler cap supplied with 2B kits. Someone will probably have am unused one kicking around which will be easier than changing to something different.
  2. Less than a month to go to the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh, so looking forward to meeting everyone one there. Hopefully some of our newer members will attend and come and see us on the club stand, it's always good to put faces to names. Welcome to the following people who joined in March: Mark P Mark Prescott Wellingborough Craig N waz270 Ashford David C exlabman Goole Ray H razermondo Ireland Gug B Pepsi51 Cowley Neil R Neil Russman Preston If you've not already done so, post your approximate location on the members map here, it helps people see who else is in their local area and is a good way to encourage members to get in touch with one another.
  3. Epic thread resurrection.
  4. Have you got a steel plate under the floor that picks up on the mountings for those 4 vertical supports?
  5. Yes, as long as it's made out of something substantial. Substantial means at least 3mm thick if it's in tension and thicker if it's doing to be subject to bending. Don't be tempted to use thinner metal just because you have it around or it's easier to cut. Think about the direction the belt is likely to be pulled in a collision and design it to resist that load and you should be ok. Get photos afterwards if your going through IVA.
  6. It sounds like you don't have the standard 2B dummy struts. These do have the pin angled relative to the main diameter that goes in the hub.
  7. This is a list of the standard parts including those ball joints. https://nw.rhocar.org/parts.htm Check the angular position of the dummy strut in the hub, this will affect the angle of the top ball joint pin
  8. Tbh, looking at the bracket I'm surprised it lasted that long. It looks like the sort of quick prototype I'd make in thin metal before making the proper one in something sturdy.
  9. Next Wednesday (30th) , 7PM onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. See you there.

Adrian Flux and Heritage Insurance both support the club, they'd be worth speaking to. Generally there's no best option for insurance as it depends on you own specific requirements / circumstances.
  14. @Dcr88k24 Daniel, as you're a new member in the North East, would you be interested in attending this event?

Also a reminder that we have a wide range of merchandise available, featuring the club logo (top left corner of his page) which has the car in a choice of orange, yellow, purple, blue or green. 16. If your donor engine number doesn't match the one on the V5 then the V5 won't be any use and you'd have to register it on a Q plate. A 2B isn't a quick or easy car to build but as you've got 4 years to do it, it should be possible. All the info you'll ever need is here on the forum, you just need to be determined and stick with it - actually finishing and getting through IVA is strangely rewarding.
  17. If it's mapped properly it should be ok. If it's not been mapped, you're probably going to fail on emissions.
  18. We're still on for tonight. Everyone welcome.
  19. Leave it until after IVA or you'll never get the car finished. Sliding pillar conversion has been widely covered before, have a read through some of these threads: https://www.rhocar.org/index.php?/search/&q="pillar conversion"&search_and_or=or The GBS comes with instructions, if you could get hold of a set of these, it would be a good starting point.

For the life of me I can't see why people make their own looms unless they're some kind of masochist with too much time on their hands. Looms are available off the shelf, if you hit problems there's no shortage of people to ask for advice and the time it'll save can be spent finishing off other things on the car. btw, I'm someone who's spent many hours sorting out other people's shi**y kit car wiring.
