  1. Last Wednesday of the month, 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL. I'll aim to be there just after 630pm, generally they're trying to kick us out just after 9pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. Also, if you want to eat, book beforehand as they don't normally let people just rock up and eat. Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. Everyone welcome. See you there.
  2. Jackie Duck parfait, Roast butternut squash and Brie tart. Richard Duck parfait, Turkey breast Thanks Chris.
  3. To add to what Alan has said, if you move house, update your address in your Paypal account. That's the address we're most likely to use to send magazines and memberships to.
  4. If you want to increase the compression ratio more, you should have the head skimmed. You've already got the high compression pistons, the only other thing that will increase the compression is to reduce the combustion chamber volume. The crank journals are now undersize, this does nothing for compression. If the big ends were offset ground, you'd gain a bit more capacity but you've got more from the larger bore. The deck surface of the block looks cleaned up already, if the head hasn't been skimmed, I'd just get that done and put it together.
  5. I'd be on the lookout for a complete unfinished kit with a donor V5. You'll be paying over £1k to £1.25k for it but there will be parts you don't need that you can sell on so you should get everything you need at least than the cost of buying individual parts.
  6. Positive Design in Tamworth did mine. https://www.positive-design.ltd.uk/ They supplied 3M wrap and did the 4 arches and nosecone for under £200 (it was a few years ago).
  7. Look like H4 according to the marking on the lens.
  8. As picture below. 7 script grill mesh. Looks like chromed steel, never fitted. 434mm wide at the widest point and 214mm high in the centre. £30 posted
  9. Good turn out, especially considering the time of year.
  10. Booked Friday to Sunday, pitch 29.
  11. Still on the last Wednesday of the month (next Wednesday), 6pm onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL. I'll aim to be there just after 6pm, generally they're trying to kick us out just after 9pm so if you're coming, don't leave it too late. 12. Surely someone nearby can weld it? I wouldn't be cutting corners on steering shafts.
  13. Are you going for a new registration? If you are, you need the original invoice from when the kit was sold by Robin Hood which would show that the major components were supplied new.
  14. Unlikely to be the ignition switch more likely to be a bad connection somewhere. Get a 12v test light and connect it between a decent earth and the positive side of the coil. With the ignition on, the light should be on. Start poking and jiggling at the wiring and see if the light goes out (or comes on if it wasn't on before). Pay particular attention to connectors and earth points. Look out for non factory looking crimped terminals, anything with tape on which might hide a bad connection.
  15. I previously used a microswitch with a roller on the end of the arm. It kept moving relative to the pedal and was hard to adjust. My brake lights were either always on, or not working at all. I was glad when I finally sacked it off.
  16. I used a motorbike rear brake switch. It's got a spring on it that's pulled by the brake pedal. Works far better that the microswitch I used before and it's easy to adjust should the need arise.
  17. The North East area meet has now moved to the last Tuesday of the Month.
  18. The area meet formerly known as Warks, Worcs and West Midlands. Still on the last Wednesday of the month (next Wednesday), same venue and time, 6PM onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. Everyone welcome. See you there.
  19. I think if you don't go single donor and age related plate, you can IVA as a Q plate and the emissions are more relaxed.
  20. Zetec and bike carbs, best value for money.
  21. No, you need to release the distributor clamp bolt and rotate the distributor in the engine block to adjust the ignition timing. You need a timing light to set the timing to the correct figure.
