    Robin Hood V8

V8s can be quiet enough, my v8 Westfield was to quiet in fact, but the exhaust system on it most likly cost thousands...
  5. My box is a hybrid mix of v6 and 2.0l parts and cost a fair bit to build but does have taller 1st 2nd and 3rd. 2.98 1st gears are available but again expensive
  6. Think your buying the carbs the engine comes for free.
  7. I run 20 front 19psi rear and it's spins up like a na car on 50psi rear.
  8. That is one quality bit of engineering, knowing what my engine cost to get to where it is now that vette must be 10x at least !!
  9. Gaz are rubbish, on my 2b they failed in under 3000miles and corroded badly and the damping adjustment didn't work in the correct range for a light car. Where as my procomp / protek are in good condition after 3 yrs and 11000 miles and the damping adjustment was set up for a light car.. sold as dyno matched pairs.
  10. Thing to watch with the scales is they all have to be level or readings will be out. I was surprised how little you had to adjust a spring to shave kg,s off a corner weight.
  11. Been having a right play with the suspension over the last 2 days and wow what a different car, i started by trying to corner weight the car, ive got two heavy duty scales and using my ramp to lower the car on and off the scales i realised that its harder than it looks as everything needs to bang on level or the results are dramatically effected. i gave up on that idea and decided the rake angle was easier to set so Ive dropped the front springs down by 25mm on the adjusters, raised the rear by the the same reduced damping from 5 to 3 on the front and gone from 3 to 5 on the back. then went for a drive it was like a different car far less scitish and more stable on the fast bumpy stuff we have round here. Today i bought as setting tracking up is a bit of a pain when you dont know what the zero point is to start with, i quickly found that o/s front was 1.5deg toe in and n/s was 1 deg toe in, from there i could use my track ace to take both wheels back to 0deg, a quick recheck with the track rite to check it was 0 then i adjusted it with approx 1/8deg toe in both sides. then off for another blast round the bumpy B roads Derbyshire is blessed with and again the car is much improved, to he point it felt almost normal for the 1st time in all the yrs ive owned it... All the extra power has just made pre existing problems more of a problem, but now its sorted as best i can get it. think next thing is go to roadrunner racing and get it corner weighted professionally..
  12. Floor mounted pedal box in mine, done 2 Scotland tours with it. No issues with comfort
  13. trailer is a better safer option for towing kit cars, due to the fact kit car chassis are rarely square and geometry is all over the place and may not track very well behind the tow car. just my opinion
  14. Depending on the damage you find it may be better to remove entire loom and start again, I personal would make my own loom but I am an electrician, it's not hard just do it one wire at a time, I start furthest from fuse box 1st. By the way gutted for you !!!!
  15. live from fuse box to ign light, alt creates earth when it's not spinning/charging
  16. Just fitted a 60a denso on my supercharger build brand new approx £130
  17. Interesting read http://oilcatchcan.com/
  18. coolex had them at stoneleigh for £180 which i thought was a good price
  19. Not sure about this one, catch can is attached to the crankcase breather, then vents to atmosphere. My catch can keeps filling with water, no oil what so ever just water. Any ideas ? I.m not loosing coolant, nor am using oil, there is no emulsion on the filler cap etc so doubt head gasket. Strangely the water is not pink either (antifreeze colour) is this a by product of forced induction?
  20. i believe if he is a dealer then you have a 1month warranty, despite what he may say...
  21. let's park some Robin hoods on there stand that will really piss them off
  22. Most Robin hoods have cheap rubbish radiators, I would recommend a coolex alloy, look at all other points mentioned above and sadly it sounds like your head gasket is now blown.. all fixable not massively expensive.
  23. What color is the member ship card, red ?
