  1. No, we'll be there tomorrow but if you're the only one there tonight, I might pop down and see you.
  2. Some idea of the installation would help but I'd be using something at least 6mm thick, especially if there's any sort of bending moment between the cylinder and whatever the bracket is mounted to. The mount will be subject to a high load, repeatedly. You can't make something like that too robust.
  3. I wouldn't attempt to try and calculate it, too many variables and would probably be wrong. Reliant clutch master cylinder should be 5/8" bore (16mm). I would start by piping that up as it is and see how the clutch feels. I suspect you will be able to easily disengage the clutch with only partial pedal travel due to the large bore and the clutch should be light because the spring in a bike clutch will be weaker than a car one. You need to see if full pedal travel is overloading the slave cylinder and if it is, either get a smaller bore master cylinder (think 5/8" is already the smallest Girling do) or move the pushrod connection closer to the pedal pivot point.
  4. Good turnout tonight, thanks to everyone who turned up. Decent weather meant we could be outside and mingle a bit more freely. Felt like a glimmer of normality at last.
  5. Looks like it might be dry this evening in which case I will try and get some tables outside.
  6. Just to add, if you want to eat you can but you need to pre-book. Details on the Toby carvery website https://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/
  7. Our usual venue The Malt Shovel is now open so we can try having our meeting next Wednesday 26th May from 7PM. I'm at the venue now checking out the format and am drinking inside. Basically we can meet inside which is set out for tables of 4 to 6 people up to around 40 people. You must wear a mask when you enter and sign in with Track and Track app or give your details at the front desk. Once seated, masks can come off while you remain seated. It's table service only (we ordered drinks at the desk then sat down). After this you probably need to mask up and attract the barman's attention and he come to take your order then bring it to the table. If the weather is decent, we can meet outside and order from there somehow. That's about it, we can give it a go and see how it works.
  8. Yes, pretty rare option. Here's one from an old forum classified advert (2007), it's a sub-K but you get the idea.
  9. Nothing is stamped on the chassis by the factory. Safest option is probably to apply for one.
  10. VIN number will be new to the car. You can either write to the DVSA and ask for one or do what I did which is to make your own up - 17 characters but i think no I, O or Z. With letters and numbers you get a fair few permutations, enough to ensure you'll probably get something unique (certainly in the UK).
  11. No, not according the IVA manual because it's missing the mandatory relevant marking shown in table 1 of Section 45. This would be I for a toughened (tempered screen). That said, mine passed with exactly the same screen so my examiner either had bad eyesight, or wasn't too bothered.
  12. Cobra hoops were a £50+VAT option on the Sub K kit in 2002 and in 2005, a no cost option on 2B and a £30+VAT on the lightweight.
  13. These were on Facebook recently https://m.facebook.com/groups/132985470503803/permalink/1143859149416425/
  14. Thanks for the clarification Trevor. This was a great event in 2019 and looks like it will only get better. Well worth attending.
  15. Self centreing is more dependent on caster than camber. You should be able to adjust the caster by lengthening or shortening the tie bar.
  16. All the info relevant to the lightweight chassis IVA issues are in their own sub- section: https://www.rhocar.org/index.php?/forums/forum/36-lightweight-issues/ Having a trawl through that would be a good start.
  17. As Kerry said, I can't see anything on the Santa Pod website saying this is cancelled. Other events on the same day is normal, Kitfest isn't a stand alone event. Trevor Harmer who is involved with organising the event posted an update regarding ticket sales yesterday on our Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/514980222217443/permalink/1330575303991260/ Until we hear anything definitive to the contrary, it looks to be on.
  18. Great to have Tony onboard. As we may have members in these counties that don't come on the forum, the club will do an e-mail to all members in Wilts, Hants and Dorset to let them know Tony is Area Secretary and inviting them to get in contact. Just to be clear, in order to comply with GDPR regulations, the club doesn't give members details out to Area Secretaries but will contact them and invite them pass their details on to Tony if they wish.
  19. Strangely I'm writing this up on the Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon at just after 4pm - the exact time I'd normally be sat at the top table for the club AGM at Stoneleigh. As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, we don't have any plan yet for the rescheduled AGM and major shows still seem some way off but we'll keep you posted as and when things change. However there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel with some area meets due to start again later this month (hopefully including my own for Warks / Worcs / West Mids). There's also a steady stream of new members joining the club and the forum seems to be active with quite a few people getting stuck in to jobs on their cars. The following new members joined in April, welcome to everyone and with any luck, we'll be seeing them at meets and shows later in the year. 20. Stick with your standard hubs and use these brackets. http://www.kitcardirect.co.uk/ford-sierra-disk-brake-adapters.html I'd recommend avoiding messing with driveshafts including trying to get Cosworth ones which will be hard to get and expensive (guess how I know?).
