  1. Forgot to say This kit has NOT been started; so is as collected from RH nearly two decades ago.
  2. A mate has had a S7 complete kit sat in his garage for the past 18 years---yes 18 years. He also has a 2.0 litre 16V Dolomite engine & running gear with only 60K miles on; 1979 vintage.PARTS MISSING--exhaust--prop shaft--steering column. He wants £2000.00 for the complete (almost) package; he may also be able to deliver it for you. Colour is Blue/silver. P.M. to me if you're interested.
  3. It's still a great story---- even when I've heard several?? different versions.

    Relays And Column

If no-body gives you a definitive answer -- connect a high wattage lamp (headlight or better) in series with battery lead. (Disconnect battery lead & connect to one side of headlamp--connect other side of headlamp back to battery) Now you can play "suck it & see" with-out smoking the wiring;'cos if you have a dead short the lamp next to the battery will light full on, if it's correct relay will still pull in & light work but at a lower brilliance(battery ligth will glow as well.

    Donor Reg Number

Plus your personal plate must be the same year age or older -- so you can't pass off your car as younger than your donor car.

    Southern Hoods

We shall be there in our tin tank.
  7. Mac, just twigged where you are--if you need welding kit may-be we can get together at my place--I have a 185amp MIG.
  8. Engine mount--is it a mild steel tube? If so cut & shut an extension piece in--a good MIG weld will be stronger than your badly loaded bolts.
  9. Does that mean we have to be more tolerant to icebergs?
  10. Great news,we hope; can now cancel the fire-proof under-wear for my passengers??
  11. Stick them on the wing!! much more robust & they mark width of vehicle.
  12. Much quicker than me ;the only way this solution would not work is if the indicator lamp wattage was greater than the combined left or right winker wattage--try no earth on rear light cluster (mounted on fibre-glass) for some weird results; or may-be not.

    Exhaust Wrap

I think you will find that stainless steel corrodes more when air is excluded from the surface--a test that springs to mind--put a tight fitting rubber band around a piece of stainless & leave in a jar of water for a couple of days--there will (should?) be more discolouration under the band--or is this another poorly remembered fairy tale!!
  14. If I could spell---it would make SENSE.
  15. Would suggest changing your penny-washers for L shaped brackets-- hole in long side togo over the stud--short side of L same length as height of sender above tank--this leg then bears on tank & stops bracket tipping when you tighten nut onto stud. hope that makes sence & is helpful.
  16. MY 2B+ is to be fitted with rear cycle wings-- whose make & size (circumference) do you think you'll be using?
  17. Sorry to maybe add to your woes---check all your wiring--- rats & mice love the taste of PVC---I've seen mains voltage wires stripped to bare copper without killing the pests---make sure your garage is rat hole free before any car repairs though.

    Snow

Mat, replying to your other posts, (which we're not supposed to do--but HEY--it's Christmas) thanks for getting our site up & running again--you don't know how much you miss it till it's gone(even if it was only temp glitch) P.S the car was the wrong colour.
  19. When you & your wife are passed the "looks good in frillies" stage, presents need to be more practical, for my wife this year----I bought-----at Exeter Kit Show---- a Powder-coat spraying system----she recons it's brill!!!----should save getting her hands covered in paint; just need a big oven to go in the tractor shed for baking the parts.

    Steering Colum

Put mine on the other side of the engine,it's then away from all the heat--but I'm running a CVH so every-thing is back to front, welded brackets to suit--there are normally loads of 10mm threaded holes on the side of the block.
  21. Lucky guy, always told my 2 girls to avoid trees if they got it wrong in their cars, bet the tree only lost it's bark; that is before Sam arrived.

    Electric Hoods

Top Gear did say the Tesla was on low rolling resistance tyres,so better rubber would help, & with Clarkson driving economy is bound to be less than stated --big bloke with very heavy feet is Jeremy. I would have one to-morrow---if the weekly allowance would stretch.

    Winter Hoodies

Normal solution --- buy a proper pair --- Hoodie solution --- wire in series with a 6volt lamp of same wattage(as gloves) --- plug into cigar socket=gloves working again AND light so people can see you waving in the dark.
  24. Andrew, I think you will get very few bidders, I bought my auto-dark helmet on E-bay for £27 + £6p+p.

    Winter Hoodies

What voltage were the gloves --- could they be wired in series or parallel to a cigar lighter---cables down the sleeves of your coat like your Mum used to do when you was a nipper to stop you looseing them. Or wire to a cordless drill battery--lots more capacity there.
