I Must Be Mental...

If you wanted another project you could stick an inline 6 in there plus a GT6 bonnet!

In the old days I think you could alter the transverse spring on the rear to reduce camber change on the swing axle, I don't think later models had the problem. My GT6 certainly held the road well.

The MK1V and 1500 versions had better rear suspension with less camber change than the earlier MK3 but weren't any quicker due to emissions gear

I had a MK3 when I was 21 and it was just great fun as long as you didn't lift off in a corner or jump any humpback bridges

If I had one now I would look at rear suspension modifications and a straight six conversion

Biksz: not necessarily, this is helping renew te love tbh.

Steve: lol sorry about the awful plate blanking, did it on my phone as now paranoid :(

Bob: they did indeed. This was previously owned by a TR specialist so I need to get under it properly to confirm what's been done. The 1500 had some bits done from factory but still room for improvements.

Cb750: strictly a daily, no projects on this that take more than a day!

Richard: thanks, its been lovely so far, fingers crossed for smooth ownership.

I have always liked the look of these, I think they were the best looking british car of the era. Hope you have fun with it. At least theres no complicated electrics on these, although perhaps given past experiences you should fit some sort of anti-theft device. I'm going to work on my car electrics later on but I think I'll see if my six year old son can help (not like that daddy, that won't work!)

Guest Ian & Carole

Must admit that my classic sports car of choice ( for when I get older) would be an MGA.

To buy one of those Mr Fry you will have to sell or re - mortgage the country estate, have you seen how much they fetch!!! :o
