  2. It has the coil pack. Been watching you tube tube video of simple conversion to carbs, going to do that I think.
  3. Logically to get it to run you don't need any ignition barrel, keys or dash cluster, but you do need an ECU & probably a bit more of a harness. Do you have the coil packs? ME221 would probably do, there are some Arduino based ECU's around, just depends on youe skill levels

  5. When the fuse blows the little LED on top lights up. I assume they are wired in parallel so that the amps normally go through the fuse (zero ohms), but when that goes open circuit the current flows through the LED. Clever stuff
  6. And the light when they are working or when they are not?

    Fail MOT today

If your car still has the original RH wiring loom, the side lights were all powered by a permanent live from the light stalk, which went to a 10a fuse and then out to all lights through red wires. Hopefully straight forward to track down.
  9. That's clever where did you get those from?
  10. Probably just a fuse as the headlights are on a different fuse to the rest of the lights. Don't ask me which one though I actually replaced many of my fuses with the ones that light up when they fail. Makes tracking them down much easier.
  11. Well she failed her MOT very quickly today. So quickly in fact that I didn’t get charged thankfully. Headlights come on but no sidelights and no rear lights. Fogs work, indicators work, main beam works, no side or rear.

  13. We don't want to waste this glorious driving weather so the East of Englan team were out and about again today. We went to Sywell Airfield, which has the advantage of a large car park and a great view over the airfield while having a picnic. It's also a good run for alll of us with journey times between 40 mins and 1:20 hrs. We parked in our usual place in front of 2 other classics (a Hunter and a Jetsream for non-aircraft spotters) and watched all the activity, inclusing 2 spitfires and a Mustang giving joy rides, a microlight and lots of small aircaft. Great day. Not as windy as it looks, those trees have grown like that
  14. I've been offered an ST170 engine with throttle bodies and their loom. The seller doesn't have the ECU, he has no other loom pieces so no ECU connector, no ignition barrel, no keys and no Dash Cluster. So my question is as a bare minimum what do I need to have to get it to run ? Not looking to spend a fortune at this stage, the seller bought it as a runner but of course he'd say that Thanks, Karl.
  15. Of course we care, but we also have to be realistic. We have a limited amount of space on our host server and at present we are already hosting 20,576 pictures dating back to 2003, so we have to limit the size for each post and image. So all we ask is that you are sensible. If you pre-shrink your picture to a reasonable size to display then you can post more pictures without any change in the display. For example a raw picture from my iPhone is 4000 px by 2000 px. The maximum we allow is 1200 px by 1200 px so you cannot post it as it stands. But if I shrink it to 20% it is only 800 px by 400px yet still displays perfectly on the screen. We also limit the overall size of the post, and unfortunately as you are not a member you will be severely limited as to the number of pictures you can post as well. Members have a much more generous allowance and can post almost as many as they like. There are many free programs available to do this shrinking (technically called ‘resizing’) operation, personally I use paint.net. Hope that helps. Al (Webmaster)
  16. I can see why this forum is declining. Sorry to ask, but did the originator of this forum pass on? I'm way over the Atlantic with this Robinhood car, sure draws attention at the right locations. I'm planning to get as many stickers along historic Route 66 and stickerbomb under the trunk lid. Am I limited on website space, and need to share via a photo-hosting site? If anyone cares?
  17. Only just long enough, but they have held for 17 years.
  18. I think its an escort rack mk2? On mine there's a good bit of thread visible, it's been fine for years.
  19. Not surprised. And it will not come back.

  21. Doesn't matter now, Newark/Lincoln has been Cancelled "It is with great regret that we announce that the Lincoln Kit Car Show has been cancelled. We had hoped that the move from Newark to Lincoln would have been a good one for the show but unfortunately there has not been enough interest from trade to justify running the show."
  22. Listing has now gone live on eBay, lower opening bid
  23. The only issue I can think of is if you are looking to get an age related registration number. You would then need to show proof of the minimum number of parts from the original donor vehicle, or alternatively you would need to provide proof of the minimum number of new parts for a new reg number. Either way I don't imagine an LSD will make any difference to the IVA test ............................ however, somebody may know otherwise
  24. Raising the seat height wont be an issue. Currently the seat is bolted to a frame which is 20mm off the floor and the frame is bolted to cross members in the chassis that are pre drilled, hence the specific dimensions. By using runners, the seat frame wont be used so the difference will be minimal if at all. The car is a MEV TR1ke Mike
  25. One thing to think about is that seat runners will raise your seat about 1 inch. It does not sound much but put some packing on the seat and evaluate the view through the windscreen, where is the top rail? The screen can be raised but any hood will then also need adjusting. As someone the looks out through the top of the windscreen I am aware of it when driving. I have run out of adjustment. Also what car do you have as that can change advice.
  26. Hi all, Just got my new toy and starting to fiddle with it to make it just how I want it. The car has GRP seats and they are a little too far back for me. I would like to use adjustable runners/sliders whatever they are called! Currently, the seat is bolted to a frame through the seat base which is bolted to the floor. I'd rather not drill the floor so looking for a solution to use the existing mountings on the floor pan. I have no ability to weld or fabricate but can turn a ratchet from a socket set with some success!!!!! The holes in the floor pan are 275mm side to side and 330mm apart longways. I think, from what ive read im better off with a twin locking system rather than single sided as its more secure. Does anyone know of a suitable product I can install that would work with these dimensions? I've seen a lot of seat runners that state a maximum length of 310mm. Is that the plate or the amount of adjustment???? I hope there is a product out there that I can simply bolt into the existing holes and then bolt my seat to it. I look forward to your product suggestions and expertise.
  27. Can, or perhaps should I install a LSD before IVA? I am looking at a quaife ATB kit for my open Sierra 7" diff and would prefer to build in from start if possible. Is it allowed and are there any cons?

  29. Thank you Foz! Yes really fun to drive! Even if overtaking with RH drive in a LH country Is a bit challenging some times and this Monday I will start with changing the fuel pump and playing with the carbs a bit. After that probably the cooling system, but step by step the summer is started and I want to drive it a bit more, also I need to learn a few things before starting to works on it
