  1. If you look at the front of form V112 it states as below. Under section 47 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, it is an offence to use a car, motorcycle or light goods vehicle without an MoT certificate on a public road unless the vehicle is ‘exempt’ from MoT testing (that is, it does not have to have an MoT test) because it is: • one of the types listed ‘a’ to ‘n’ over the page; or • less than three years old. Try filling in the form Neal and take to the post office. That's what I am going to do at my next renewal.
  2. Hi. Neal, When I contacted DVLA to check a few details for registration before sending in the paperwork I was told by the "Lady" I spoke to that I needed to send in a MOT certificate with the paperwork, this was 6 days after the IVA. So it looks like you have had a year free of MOT. I thinks they change the rules as they go along, No logic to all this and the guide lines differ depending who you speak too, As Bob say's it;s a small price to pay to know that your car is safe to drive and not going to fall to pieces. Regards Martin
  3. Hi John, Meet you at the June meeting, hope to be with you for the July meeting. How would 18.30-19.00 be for any one? Regards Martin
  4. Hi James, I may be confused by your question, are you asking about the oil pressure and ignition warning lights or the Smiths gauges back lights that should be wired into the side light circuit? It all depends how the builder of the car has wired them. Regards Martin

    Led Wiring

You could be in trouble with the POLICE showing a Blue light on your car.
  7. Hi, John & Bob, Pleased to meet you both again after our first meeting at Stoneleigh show this year. It would be good if a few others made the effort to come along and join in with the chat, we can only hope that we can get more to attend the next time. Regards Martin
  8. Sorry but you do not explain yourself very well, is it just the hole in the side panel that needs to be in a different position or what? If it is then cut the hole to suit then make a cover plate to finish off the change. Regards Martin
  9. Following on from Nigel's information the wires are as below:- Red wire bottom pin (slow speed) Yellow wire middle pin (fast speed) Blue wire top pin (earth) The cable may be hard to pull due to the wheel boxes being tight, so check that they are free to move and lubricate them. Regards Martin
  10. Hi John, Nice to meet you and your friend at Stoneleigh today and have our chat. I will try and get to the next meeting on 3rd June fingers crossed. Regards Martin

    Pinto Injection

Hi Nick, Part number for standard injectors 0280150219 Martin
  13. Hi Stuart I am running cossie 4 pot calipers with 284mm vented disc's but have a Peugeot 405 brake master cylinder with servo. The brakes are that good I only have to touch them. I am sure that they would work well even without a servo fitted . I changed mine to the 405 unit because I did not like how close the servo was to the exhaust outlet. Regards Martin
  14. Hi Deano, If there is no damage to the rear arch then you could try G3 rubbing compound for paintwork from a motor factors supplier and try to blend it in or do the complete arch, then you will want to do all the others. Regards Martin
  15. If you mean to hinge forward then here are a few pictures of how we did mine. First we fitted a lower tube to the frame to support the hinge and welded into place. See the pictures that will explain clearly. Martin
  16. Why not try your hand at making one yourself, I had a piece of material from a few years back and with a bit of time and plenty of practice on a few samples came up with making my cover. Martin
  17. When I built my rear suspension I used POWERFLEX bushes part no's as below Rear trailing arm outer bush kit (PFR19-110) Rear trailing arm inner bush kit (PFR19-111) Note! Bush kits supplied with new 12mm bolts and nylock nuts. Much easier to fit than the ford bushes and will last longer, Martin

    Rewire

Not sure if these pictures will help you in your wiring, If you look at the stalk that feeds the indicators and dip/main beam you will see that:- 56 is the wire from the lights/wiper switch(brown/black) 56A (brown/yellow) feed to main beam relay. 56B (brown/white) feed to dip beam relay Regards Martin
  19. Hi Tony and any others with sliding pillar front suspension here are a few pictures that I am able to post at last, as to how I have modified mine. Regards Martin
  20. It would be a good idea to check if the windscreen is marked to suit the IVA requirements or it will fail, better to remove it if not. I took mine without the screen fitted. Also check that the front indicators are no more than 400mm from the outer edge. Side repeater lights to be visible over the rear arches between 5 deg and 60 deg from the rear so may be fitted to low. The rear fog light has to be at 90 deg to the ground and check the height measurement also. All nut heads to be covered and NO sharp edges, also check interior for correct radius under dashboard. Hope this helps. Regards Martin
  21. Hi Tony I have sent you the latest pictures via email to your last email address. Regards Martin
  22. Hi Tony If you remember I sent you some pictures of my setup in 2013. I have measured mine and it is approx 60 mm from the under side of the cap screw to the wheel rim using 15" wheels. Can send some more pictures to you but tried to attach here but The server returned an error during upload Regards Martin
