  1. Stuart, When you do the bearings I've got a 350Nm torque wrench you could borrow and if you want any advise doing the bearings I had lots of practice thanks to some dodgy bearings. Jez
  2. I have a pair of 250lb 8" springs, I was looking for around £20 for them. They came on a set of new GAZ shocks when I upgraded from zimmers, I changed to 350lb springs for my 2B. Jez
  3. I'll take one of those tickets please. Will pm details.
  4. Only way to adjust camber on an s7 is by changing ride height or wedges. You may find that it needs to settle, bounce on the rear a bit it should settle down. You could also try loosening all the suspension bolts that poss through rubber bushes if these are all tightened with the rear jacked up then the rubber will act as a spring and hold the car up. Torque up the bushes at normal ride height and it should stay there.
  5. Stuart if you can't get anyone closer I'll do it for you. Jez
  6. Credit where credits due, they where excellent. Brought a small part from them at Stoneleigh, unfortunately it wasn't quite right so took it back on Monday. They didn't have the correct part at the show and after a brief discussion they said give us your address and we'll post it. Now this part only cost a few pound's so wasn't expecting much if any thing but true to their word the correct part arrived. They couldn't have made anything from the deal, it's nice to see a company that puts the customer first. Jez
  7. Look at Midland Wheel Supplies, their baby cub seats fitted my S7, 41cm wide but not buckets with slots. I think their cub sport are closer to what you want but are a bit wider at 43cm.
  8. Should be easy enough to make a spacer to fit above the spring, but raising the ride height will effect your camber angle. The higher up you go the more the top of the wheel will move outward, if you have camber wedges fitted you may need to take out. On the s7 I had I fitted some caravan towing spring assisters that slotted in between the coils, might not be easy to find these days though.
  9. http://www.coventrystox.com/ Thought I'd post a link to this it's near Stoneleigh for anyone coming on Saturday, I'm going along and is a good night out. Brandon is one of the countries best shale ovals and 40 600hp v8s is something to hear. Unfortunately time is running out for Brandon stadium its soon to be pulled down and turned into another souless housing estate. Get along while you can it's going to be a real shame when it's gone. Jez
  10. If I can find my passport I'll take a run over later.

    Weird

Could be something to do with the hazards actually being used? MOT is the only time mine get used, touch wood?
  12. Finally got out in it today, the glorious seventh then????. Weather rubbish last week and away over the weekend but worth the wait. Car ran like a dream I'm sure it's getting faster but could be me getting older!
  13. What about using one of the brass t piece adaptors and fitting it to the side hole and blocking the end?
  14. Winter mods - done Service - done MOT - done Roll on the glorious 1st and its tax done and another 6 months of motoring mayhem. If it doesn't rain or it's too cold or it's broken?:-)
  15. In my kit the off cuts or spare bits of stainless had a spray of green paint on them. May help eliminate the spare bits.
  16. What about taking out passenger seat and removing tunnel side panel?
  17. Smaller alt pulley or bigger drive pulley only way to make it spin faster, don't think there's any thing clever you can do with it to increase low rpm output.
  18. Hold on a minute. The 1k resistor is used to provide the excitation voltage for the alternator not to current limit the led, that's why it's wired parallel it allows a small amount of current to flow from the alternator.
  19. Steve, just reread comments, you say you wired res in series with led ? this is wrong it should be wired parallel or across the led. Jez
  20. I had an old cortina autamomatic years ago, and the gear box wouldn't change up to third. After a lot of messing changing oil and filter, turned out the vac hose had fell off. I think the vac drives an oil pump or something. Jez
  21. There's your problem, you need a new sender from Smith's not Ford. The ford sender will work with a Ford gauge not a Smith's gauge. Shouldn't be too hard to find, any Smith's suppliers will have a sender. Europa, demon tweeks, etc
  22. I've use 10mm copper to do a 180deg turn, diameter of bend is around 8", wasnt expecting it to last long but much easier to do with copper and to redo when it wears through. Been on the car for 7 years now.
  23. The green spark plug company. I've had bits of them in the past I think they make custom lengths. Failing that if you get the bits I have a ht lead crimp tool.
  24. Been looking up events for this year but can't find any mention of the Donington show, any one know if it's on?
  25. Hi Stuart, I can get over on Saturday to lend a hand, do I need to bring any kit with me? Jez
