Hi everyone, Just joined up today as i ordered my Zero at Stonleigh at the weekend. I have started to gather Donor parts and i have been offered an Lsd for £100.00. Sounds great but i have read somewhere that the Ford Lsd has some issues. Can anyone shed any light on this and advise whether to go with this or stick with a geared diff. The same chap who has the Lsd has also offered me a rebuilt 5 speed MT75 with Transit DI 1st-4th gearing and Sierra 5th gear for also £100.00, anyone information on gear ratios help etc would be greatly asppreciated before i spend my hard earned. I am hoping to fit a 180 BHP Zetec if this helps. Thanx in advance Marty Smith

Some years ago my dad and I acquired a part built S7 and spent a lot of time getting it match fit, we were in a whisker of sending it for SVA. However I went away to university, and then my dad passed away. Although it remained untouched for several years I could never quite bring myself to do the sensible thing and get rid. Now that I have a decent size garage the car is with me, although not in the best of health. It so happens my brother in law has a Mondeo he wants to scrap and here lies my question. I understand that the Mondeo contains a Zetec, and I think I've read about putting them in Hoodies. Is this feasible? I also believe that the mondeo is a transverse engin…

Just a thought I know from personal experience that finding Sierra parts for a donor is getting more and more difficult. I was just wondering what’s going to happen to kit builders from where lots of kit cars are Sierra based going to do once these are all gone. A lot of chassis are built to fit Sierra gear boxes, diffs ect. I have been trying to think of other more available rear wheel drive donors. BMW, Mercedes..err!!!! Would like to know your thoughts on is. Graham

Afternoon I know you can use a Sierra master cylinder but is there another make you can use? I bought a sierra one from ebay but it seems to have to many hols in it, it might be me being dense though.

While searching for some information on 16v ford engines I came across the ford scorpio site with all the manuals. Looking at the front hubs, diff, drive shafts and rear suspension it all looked very simular to the sierra. This got me thinking with sierras becoming short in supply could the ford scorpio become an alternative donor car. Has anyone any knowledge of the mechanics of these cars. Hello all. So I decided to make a start, as I have on order a new Zero. My plan was to find a Sierra spend the next few weeks stripping her out, cutting up what was not needed and disposing of, then cleaning and preping my donor parts, including the broken cars pinto. There was only one problem with this, I can not find any... Well there were one or two on ebay but they were around £8000. I have checked the papers, the internet and even called the local scrap yard, all with no luck .. I remember it was not so long ago that there was a Sierra in every street, two to a penney!! I can only guess that over the years most have been bought up for this very reason..…

HI guys I have my Zero base kit on order, so have been looking for donor parts, I will prob go for the donor pack from GBS in the end, but without the engine. My question is Do these kits (base kit) come with new fixture & fittling , nuts and bolts and such , As I would like to use new. In the list of parts that come with the kit there is no mention of this, it would be nice to have the correct fixtures for each section of my build in a nice easy to read bag. or is that too much to ask ?? I was just worring about this as I would be unsure on size and the correct strength.. Whilst im ere ( I know prob not the right section ) would I be right in thinking tha…
