Heya all, not too sure where to post this, so i guess as its a donor part here will do nicely! Got the mini heather all set up and wired up to the vents, but it hasnt got the power, has anyone else found this and come up with a cunning solution? ive tried narroing down the pipes to maintain pressure to no avail. my only guess is that its leaking inside the heater box and i need to seal it up better? tia Shane

Right. Have a group of friends who meet on a wed night. We are just after finishing a re-build on a speed boat. And we where wondering what to do next. Looked at a hovercraft but too hard. We got plans but just not a nice build. I suggested a robin hood lightweight. Not sure if you know the kit but this is how I see it. We will need a donor car. More than likely a ford Serria. The full kit from robin hood, lightweight. A set of seats Maybe a different engine. Are all the parts we need on the donor car? Has anyone done something similar? How long will it take approx in hours? I think we will order the kit and get the donor car. Strip that as required. …

Hi Having not built a Robin Hood Yet i am still very new to kits cars. However i do have a Porsche 944 and was wondering if it would fit. It is a 4 cylinder 2.5ltr engine, rear wheel drive with the gearbox/differential in one at the back to aid weight distribution. Im not sure of the size constraints as the engine is quite wide because porsche designed in a balancer bar/cam to equal out the vibrations from such a large size 4 pot. Just an idea. Let me know what you think

Hi everyone, I'm at the stage of putting the engine in but the engine i have has no mounts for it. I bought some heavy duty ones which said they were universal but the threaded screw part doesn't go all the way through the engine mount brackets from the engine. If anyone has pictures of their engine mount brackets (the ones connected to the chassis) or any actual mounts or know where i can get some it would be much appreciated. It's a 1.8 ltr ford sierra pinto 1988 ish? (no V5) engine. Thanks in advance Graham

Hi all, When taking the 4 sets of inertia reel seatbelts from my donor the spring inside caused them to reel all the way into the housing almost right up to the connector locking there . Now I do not have enough slack to back them off to release the mechanism to allow the belts out. Has anyone had any similar issues with the belts and did you manage to release the mechanism so they can be reused? If so how? Thanks in advance Gareth

This is something that I think you guys need to be aware of. Under new regulations on End of life vehicles (ELV) only an Approved Treatment facility (ATF) is allowed to issue a certificate of destruction. ATF's will only take complete cars under the ELV directive. What is a Certificate of Destruction? A Certificate of Destruction (CoD) is issued by the DVLA to prove that a vehicle has been scrapped in a lawful and environmentally sound manner. Without a CoD a last owner could be fined under new laws on continuous licensing. To download a copy of the DVLA’s leaflet on the Certificate of Destruction see the further information section below. What is a qualif…

Newbie owner here, so bear with me guys. the build is going well so far with the usual problems I was warned about. I'm going to fit bike carbs to the modded pinto engine, anyone any ideas for a manifold for these, also shortened sump, and any adaptor to fit a fan switch. In fact if anyone can steer me in the right direction/s regarding their problems with the wierd and wonderful bits and cures, I'd really appreciate it. Also shockers. I need coil overs all round any recomendations ? ta. Mike

Full marks to Mrs Did for spotting this one just round the corner from where we live - for the sum of £40. Its a 2.0L Pinto (Carb) - Its got tax till the end of the month and MOT till then end of Dec. Its got 93000 miles on the clock - I can quite believe that as the last owner had it for 14 years and he was a very old boy. It drives very nice for a C reg car and the engine pulls just as well as i can remember my Capri doing. Its even got that old ford smell. Shame its gonna be butcherd really - its a classic! .jpg' alt='default_dirol.gif' alt='8)'>.jpg'>
