I guess what I want to no is, is the 7 inch diff with push in driveshafts the correct type for a zero. My second question is about ratios I would like it to be a good all round car with the odd track day I am thinking 3.62 ??? HiAnyone fitted a Ford diesel i.e 1.8Td from a sierra or Mondeo I have been told that they can be fitted to the type 9 Gearbox I was wondering how difficult this is & what sort of performance does it have. I have a 2B I prefer diesel & finding it a bit difficult to obtain a good SOHC 2 litre Inection Pinto .If anyone has fitted a diesel Ford I would like to know of any pitfalls before buying a diesel donor. Hi All, I wanted to source some opinion first before I go any further. I have managed to get hold of a whole 1992 sierra sapphire which I am currently in the process of slowly dismantling. I have only had about 2 full days and a number of cold evenings to look at it so I've just been taking doors and accessories apart. Anyway, when I got the car, it started fine and I managed to drive it onto the drive without any issue. Come about a month later, I cannot get the bloody thing to start (it's the 2.0l DOHC if anybody is interested). I am pretty much certain that the problem is on the electrical side, suspecting either the distributor or the coil. It cranks, …

Hi all I purchased my kit car during it's build but with no v5, it has a 2litre pinto in it, I'm getting towards the end of the build and ready for iva, after it's been iva'd and inspected, it's time to register, but I don't want a q plate, can I buy a sierra so I get the v5 then change the engine on the v5 to the engine in the kit car with the dvla, take all the chasis id off it and get it destroyed after being stripped, so then I have the v5 with the engine number that's in my kit and all other id, could I then take that to dvla and get them to assign that plate to my car. Thanks

Hi Does anyone know whether you still get new Sierra front upright hubs, I can't see them listed at any of my normal suppliers. They use to be about £30 each new and I was going to swop mine for new ones rather than refurbish the donor ones Any suggestions? GD

Hi I have just found out that the donor vehicle I purchased a while ago for my Zero was declared as scrapped on the document by the original owner rather than sold to me! I'm assuming now that I cannot use this as the basis for registering the vehicle and that I will have to get rid of it as scrap metal. Is that correct? Thanks Luca

1 one of the rear hubs from my donor (1989 2.0 sierra ghia with lobros) the wheel nut studs are threaded. Ive searched ebay and am not sure from the ones listed exactly which one I need. Is there a difference between push in and lobros on the actual wheel mounting hub???

As the title says, which lower ball joints does the zero use for its front wishbones? Do the Sierra hubs require any mods?

Hi A friend of mine is looking at building a zero and as a result we have some questions. Is any particular sierra required for the donor? Year? It is preferable to fit a newer engine in the zero, probably a zetec, either new or used Can an age related plate be obtained if all the donor parts from the sierra are used and a zetec fitted? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Hello all, I have started a GBS zero this spring and i am just about to fit the engine and gearbox. The next stage for me will be sourcing the correct starter motor, alternator and Engine management system. Now i know i can buy new from kitspares but i would like to source the items from a donor car. Now i know that the fitting of the ,starter motor and alternator should be straight forward. My concern is the Ecu unit and how to configure it. Can anyone share their knowledge with me i would be very grateful. Many Thanks Disco

Hi There, I am brand new to the community (and kit cars) and looking for some help. I have bought an unfinished 2B superspec, but without a V5. The donor parts are from a 1990/91 Sierra, 2.0l Pinto engine, drive train etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Regards MTU
