    Hi Folks

Welcome, if you look on here, http://nw.rhocar.org/ there is a section on indentifying the different types of car. Be very wary though if it is not correctly registered, it should say Robin hood or similar on the V5. if not don't pay very much for it! Richard Stuart started the company many years ago so possibly could be an early one. Do you have any pictures? there may be a member living nearby who could advise if you say whereabouts in surrey you live.
  2. That looks a wonderful solution.
  3. Please don't believe in the colours too much, I have a set of 120lb/in from Robin hood and they are red, were supposed to be black at the time and also what appears to be an identical pair (wire size, no of coils) in blue if anyone is interested in them?

    Engine Mounts

It could be a monococque which has folded boxes for the mounts, see the following link. http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=44952&hl=%2Bengine+%2Bmounts

    Opps

Hope you don't have to re-shim all the valves. Let us know what happened
  6. The standard manifold and carb will bolt on if you can get/borrow one, shame you're not nearer. Anyway 170 jets are probably a good start on a pinto, you can either drill out the existing ones or buy weber DGAV or DGAS ones.
  7. Leave it running at idle for a few minutes to warm up before you try giving it any throttle, mine will die if I don't. I assume you have got the 'choke' system working ok. THe only connection you need is for the fuel supply, leave all the vents open. Just seeing you answer, if you have the original carb I would get the car running on that and then fit the others once you have everything else sorted.
  8. The no. 83 at the start of a ford part number means it was released for production in that year ie 1983
  9. It works now! thanks, I was trying to add this photo of a Lotus 23 that is hiding in a garage local to me. It was for Richard who seems to be involved in a replica.

    Pictures

I can't seem to post a picture anymore, I saw that Nigel (Longboarder) has the same problem is there something we have done wrong? Thanks
  11. Isn't that more like flycutting? mm Lotus 23
  12. You can post small file pictures like this! I use the image sizer prog that Matt Moo on here developed. I think you may be able to do it via MS Paint?
  13. Has an Accuspark got points?
  14. Answer to part of your questions is you can buy just a plain blanking cap for the rad, and you will need to block off the overflow pipe.
  15. There are drawings for tie bars on Dave Andrews old pages.http://dvandrews.co.uk/ plus lots of other useful stuff.
  16. My servo runs from just one runner on a bike carb manifold and I've never noticed any problems with lack of assistance, I suspect the original problem is not so much the pipe size as the servo.
  17. Is there a pitch change when you press the pedal really hard? The vacuum is applied to both sides of the diaphragm at rest and modulated as the brakes are applied, there is an air bleed on the pedal side of the servo. But then again 30+ year old rubber seals won't be working at their best
  18. I was wondering about this myself when my car came back from the main dealer and I couldn't shift the wheel nuts, supposed to be 125N/m. I came across this and wondered if a battery one is really necessary? managed to shift the nuts in the end with a big breaker bar, but still attracted to get one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-1010W-ELECTRIC-240V-1-2-DR-IMPACT-WRENCH-IN-CASE-SOCKETS-17-22MM/291556787990?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  19. Did you get these ball joints sorted, I have a new pair in the garage for some reason if they are any use?
  20. There is a non return valve in the vacuum hose from the engine, has it been fitted the wrong way around?
  21. Well done, I drove past yesterday afternoon and saw lots of escorts, capris, anglias on the roads.
  22. Engine and gearbox out for me too. I don't know whereabouts you are in Cambs but Bailey Morris are in St Neots if you need a new propshaft making.
  23. I believe the very early 2B used the monocoque ones, some one may be able to confirm.

    Front Brakes

Its the vented ones that usually warp, where the hollow sections are.
