  1. So can we presume that the £2.50 charge for paying road tax online by credit card will also go? Malcolm
  2. Best wishes Marcus, it's a big step but quality work will succeed I'm sure!

  4. Anyone on here likely to be at Weston Park Sunday or Monday? I'll be there but not in the Exmo Malcolm
  5. I've had the length of hinge for a few years and never dared to tackle the job, so well done. It looks very professional and a job to be proud of! Malcolm
  6. I have an plastic syringe which I use to remove all the old fluid from the master cylinder before I bleed anything. I refill the master cylinder with fresh fluid and then bleed the brakes. Probably do get a little bit of mixing but this way I never let any air into the system so the bleeding is just getting the fresh fluid into the brake pipes. Malcolm
  7. Another link which may be of interest https://www.discovernorthernireland.com/causeway/Causeway-Coastal-Route-Driving-Tour-A2107 Malcolm
  8. Congratulations and best wishes to you and your family, Andy Clare and little Thomas!
  9. Thanks for posting the screen shot, can you also lift a copy of the planner map?

    Anybody Got A Match!

I should have thought of that possibility as well. My ignition switch loses ignition power when turned on to start, so in the end I wired in a starter button which appears to have sorted it (although I know I've only cured the symptoms and not the underlying problem!)

    Exhaust

Post #3 works. Interesting as I had read that some people won't use wrap because it is supposed to promote failures (either due to temperature or holding moisture, can't remember which). Mine are wrapped and OK so far Malcolm edit, sorry I didn't answer your question, can't help with finding a replacement
  12. Can't say for sure about his car, but my Exmo which was built in the 1990s and based on a 1984 Sierra says 'Make Robin Hood Exmo' 'Body type Sports'. That isn't a lot of help I know except to indicate that even pre SVA/IVA mine at least is booked as a Robin Hood

    Mot Question

MOT testers manual says that any kit car registered before 1 Aug 1998 are to be treated as if first registered before August 1975 for emissions purposes. Those registered after required SVA and should be tested to the limits set out on the V5. However this is from the flowchart for non cat vehicles and I assume there's another for cat vehicles which I don't have Don't know if it helps, Malcolm

    Tax And Insurance

You don't need Insurance to tax online or at a Post Office. However, DVLA run a regular (monthly?) check of the tax and insurance database and if they come accross a taxed but uninsured car then the owner gets a letter and the threat of a fine if the owner doesn't either insure or sorn it. Think that the idea is to stop people insuring a car, taxing it and then cancelling the insurance, so instead they check all cars on the system regularly. Malcolm

Why Is A Q Plate So Bad?

I don't think that an individual can declare a car scrapped anymore, the process has to go through a licensed dismantler. However, as the SORN is now continuous, does it matter is the original donor isn't officially scrapped? Malcolm

    New Camera Thingy

Thanks for posting. I didn't know about these cameras and they look to be good value, especially as there seems to be a 'car mode' to continuously record on a loop. If yours is the wifi version can you confirm that it has the 'car mode' as I've only seen it referred to on the non wifi one. Thanks Malcolm
  24. Front shocks question..... Is this what you mean? http://www.rhocar.or...?showtopic=3966 Mine are OK at the moment but I keep an eye on them! Regards Malcolm
