OK you better download the IVA book and start working your way through. When you get stuck or need a different viewpoint please post here or come along to a local meet and compare against another car.
Hi Murray,
Do you have any further information, has been through SVA/IVA? Was it registered historically and sold without plates?
Could it be a a illegal car registered incorrectly in the past or using donor plates?
Retirees should be handicapped like horse racing! You must tow a 500kg weight, only use left foot braking and accelerating, wear pink shell suits, shoes should be at least size 13 Doctor martins and only travel between twilight hours......when your anus is aligned with Jupiter.
Hi,
First thing wow that sledge was built when I was born and yes I know about the snow in Basingstoke because I had to stay in a hotel for two days more expected. Not fun!
I’m with Derek, sounds like a poor earth. Easy to test with a jumper cable from the earth to chassis, try to back probe the indicator with a split pin or bed of nails on the cable.
I have had 3 twin Weber’s and Dellortos and they run best at 3.5 psi, I have never used the mechanical pump always fitted electric pump at or very near to fuel tank. With current set up twin 45’s I choose a pressure regulator.
Very nice, I have stainless steel panels and starting to look poor due to wear and tear I would be tempted to get the car wrapped if the finish was this good.
Not exactly the same issue but prior to my IVA I read that some testers like to see a nut on this bolt so I fitted a high tensile 8.8 bolt and nyloc nut.
Fantastic idea, might encourage more travel and get to meet other U.K. kit car club members that we do not see except at Stoneleigh once a year.
Could also be a great addition to our magazine, photo of cars and U.K. map with pins/flags where people have been.
So you sort out Steering geometry camber etc., including height of the car all round with front 10mm lower than the rear in most cases then adjust corner weights. Or is it corner weights first, then steer geometry?
Hi Richy, sorry I cannot make tomorrow I still need to sort camber and get a new tyre fitted. But looking like I will get some garage time next weekend.
Catch up soon.
