    Wrapping

I wrapped my bonnet and scuttle on my own. Would have been easier with 2 people but not impossible. As Alex says, its great and you can't tell the difference until you're closer. I have a brushed steel effect and always have people running their hands over it and getting really close to see. I'm looking at painting mine as I prefer a deep gloss/metallic look that I'm yet to find a suitable vinyl for. However the vinyl is easier to do and less work to get looking top notch. Check my blog for the pictures
  2. Unfortunately I was too busy to make it this year however the feedback is making it a must next year. Would a circuit or disused airfield and cones be out of the question?
  3. Price negotiable, can do individual items if people require them
  4. Thanks Stu! For some reason I can't start a thread or message but I can always comment. Silly work internet filter! L I also have some multispoke wheels (mazda fitment 4x100) 15 inch wheels and tyres for sale too, £200, PM me if you want pictures as my photobucket is also playing up
  5. I have a Mazda Mx5 mk1 1.8 Engine+gearbox for sale about 130 bhp out the box, plenty of tuning options. ITBs superchargers, turbochargers etc etc. Plenty of people run up to 200bhp with these, just ask Tazzzman about his supercharger build done by Red 7 Engineering (steamer on the forum) Put one in with a decent exhaust and you'll free up a few more. I have a 25 year old, 120k miles 1.6 engine in putting out 113bhp (115 standard/new from the factory) and I'm fairly sure the exhaust system recovered any loses from all that and made up for the poor intake set up I have lol. p.s. I also have all the other running gear available too currently if you're interested in doing a complete engine swap

    Garage

I tried to convince my parents to help me buy a house that had a conservatory at the back which had access through the garage and then a set of massive rear doors for the conservatory. I was pretty confident I'd be able to have got the Zero in there for the rebuild

    Log Book!

I keep wanting a Capri.....but to V8 swap it I think I'll stick with my current project list for now....
  10. When I first passed my test I was a statistic waiting to happen. Luckily I have so far made it to 23 and no amount of speeding fines, scare tactics or horror stories ever made me think about my speed or how I was driving. Even more so when I drove a defender and ended up with the general mindset of "anyone hits me they'll come off a lot worse" What did get me was the realisation that in the Zero, if anything serious happened, chances are I'd be using the last of my luck. Death by Ford KA is not something I want on my headstone lol. Eitherway nothing brings you to your sense quicker than feeling exposed and that helped me big time. Still doesn't prevent the spirited drive, thats what the car is for. But its the trackdays that allow me to test the limits, not public roads.
  11. Go to the post office. It is surprising how much they can actually still do there. I had to change the tax class on my new daily from Disabled back to PLG which DVSA kept saying "send the V5 plus another form and another form and fees etcetc then we will send it out to you" Was meant to allow 4-6 weeks for the V5 to arrive, then had to send off this new change of tax class stuff which could take a further 6 weeks. Before you know it, my new car could have been sat waiting for all this to come through for 3 months! I'm waiting for them to change it again. Thankfully having bought 2 cars under these new laws I have not been caught out waiting for the new V5 or struggling to tax a car (this 2nd one getting close), but to do it by the book in theory have to buy the car and ask the seller to hold on to it for another 4-6 weeks before you can actually collect it! Either way, having purchased tax Friday and driving 160miles over the weekend, I'm waiting for an ANPR camera to flag up no tax whilst their system updates.

    Mx5 Donor Car

I'd be tempted to break it myself.....I have a habit of doing that... I'll pm you my email for some pictures if thats ok? I might use it to do up my 1990 mx5 which I'm considering selling or breaking lol
  13. Is it a magnetic sensor or just proximity? The proximity one I have must be something like 2mm from the pick up so could just be a few mm out of position if its been moved. Just a separate thought, should the speed sensor pick up from the driven wheels i.e. the rear? Sure that was something that was asked on my IVA test when setting up for the speed check...
  14. I shall be there, I'll make sure I have a proper funnel this time
  15. get your doors finished off then
  16. Just to follow this up as I was avoiding actually working and found this still open.... Took the car out yesterday and can confirm the noise was most likely down to the heat of the day now we are no longer in a Greek heatwave. Was much less noticeable Will still look into proper P-clip mounting once I begin the winter rebuild
  17. He's joined the Wales trip a week late lol. And racing a train...on foot... Last i got from Stu is he still needs to do the bracing and another little job. Not a lot but his work is keeping him busy recently i think
  18. Wow, you must be powering the whole street with a monthly direct debit like that! Mine is done by cash quarterly (being students at the time), they send 4 bills for varying periods of which some overlapped and others recalculated periods already paid for to actual readings. Then begun the arguments. "actual readings must be paid, no we won't explain it to you, no we wont give a reason whats happened, nothing you can do but pay" variety of different reasons for why I was been rebilled for periods, never had a straight answer, complaints opened but then closed without action been taken. Eventually got the Ombudsman involved who came with a 5th explanation of what happened. Basically said the accounts were recalculated from the beginning of my time with them (about just over a year earlier) but still didn't explain why the costs had increased on actual bills. Accepted their findings (not much choice unless I wanted to go to court over it), SP were 6 days late with what they were told to do, which I then also rejected as completely unsatisfactory, incomplete and borderline insulting, haven't heard anything since raising this with the Ombudsman again during their follow up call and that was 2 weeks ago.....still having to use SP provided gas and electric whilst this drags out.
  19. I'm waiting for the Ombudsman to resolve an issue with Scottish Power thats been ongoing since December 2014. I can't leave or change as there is a disputed debit on the account apparently :/ I'll be moving soon so they better hurry up their decisions!

    Mot

You won't need an MOT immediately after IVA if that is what you mean? I re-taxed my Zero in May, built on an age related plate (H-Reg using mx5 donor), but the Zero was shown as first registered March 2014. From everything I read, the law is from first registration so if the V5 says under 3 years, you'll be fine I've not had any issues and there are people who are in 2nd or 3rd years of it with no issues. After 3rd year its back to yearly as per usual
  21. Don't worry Vic, I've got a spare seat in the DeLorean if you wanted to go to this one? haha
  22. I have seen the tracking ones before but the massive price tag, well it's not that big of a desire haha. I think it would be pretty awesome getting some aerial footage of a track day....not sure it would be allowed but would be a good laugh. If I took it out on the road I'd either escape its range or forget its up there for when the battery runs out!
  23. I need someone who is experienced in flying a drone and able to track a moving vehicle, maybe even whilst in the moving vehicle. Yes the vehicle is my Zero....any takers? http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/gg-groupon-goods-global-gmb-h-144-212
  24. I had to google it, but it was worth the chuckle haha
  25. Kit car with en suite.
