  1. Great idea, I was thinking of doing something similar because I am running dry after 98'ish miles. I always take spare 5 litres for longer trips and throw it in the lawnmower so never goes stale.
  2. Hello fellow petrolhead's, What are you buying for your Kit car or Garage this Christmas? I'll start 3 sheets 1m x 2m of aluminium tread plate, white paint and new strip lights for the man cave.
  3. Yes count me in, by then we should all be micro-chipped with the Covid vaccine with built in gps speedo. Tickets and points will be automatically sent in the post!
  4. @Peter Bell I feel your pain, many years ago I was seen as a cleverest dad ever and helped with homework. Fast forward... Now I have a kid in college doing IT software and hardware and another in Uni doing digital forensics. Help!!!
  5. Worth trying our club sponsors, Adrian flux and Heritage both know our about our kits.
  6. Any chance it's a left-hand thread?
  7. There's so much flex in the bonnet, not sure paint would stick very well. Personally all one colour would look best, maybe with some racing strips.
  8. A big thank you to @Matt brown for sourcing some ali treadplate at a good price. If you need any metal ask Matt for a price.
  9. Personally I would go for a slightly cheaper car and then spend money to modify to your own design. All these cars are different and bespoke and you will never buy the perfect car for you.
  10. Keep going it will be worthwhile, eventually.
  11. Makes a lot of sense Kerry, considering the uncertainty about the various lockdowns.
  12. Looks good, a bit brighter and more modern.
  13. I know how you feel, I tend to play catch up with the car in front. Works well until that car is a police car, oops! Nevertheless it's great to keep these cars going over the winter period.
  14. Thank you for the feedback, never heard of G1 stuff I will have a look.
  15. I never sorn my car because there are some great clear but cold days over winter. But the risk of being caught in a shower is much higher, my wiper blades on the Zero are not great. So just wondering can you recommend any windscreen treatment to aid the wipers. Halfords latest newsletter is advertising Rain-x, does it work?
  16. Welcome Yves, there's about 30 kit cars visiting Le Mans next year.

    Kit fuel tank

No certification is needed, these are hand built cars and not mass produced.
  18. Hi, Do you know the diff ratio please? Thank you
  19. I wonder if you are fitting the right starter but someone has modified the flywheel and starter ring gear, hence the clunking.

    gearbox oil

Hi Connie, There's a large plug on the side, with a massive hex key. Full up using a bottle with long tube fitted. Failing that I have seen some guys make a hole (25mm) in the tunnel, so much easier.
  21. Peter it applies to everything if it is not needed for IVA test then don't fit because when fitted it can be tested for sharp edges. Likewise don't fit the screen, then you do not need demisters, washers or wipers. Less to fail on.
  22. On another forum some has just said 286 capless bulb??? Typical!
