Comparing a stainless steel 2B to an Exmo what's the pro's & con's over each car, there's currently an unregistered 2B which needs completing or a registered Exmo that needs an engine. Is a stainless steel chassis the problem that I think it might be, unable to modify it etc, but presumably it's a newer kit?

Guys, Just sold my Formula 27 & now looking for another kit, saw this one on Fleecebay which ticks my boxes as no engine/box & needing some work, but the front suspension doesn't look like Exmo if I compare it with another for sale, along with the article about the bracket cracking, has it been modified or had a V5C swap? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Robin-Hood-7-Exmo-wide-body-kit-car-like-Westfield-dax-locust-7-track-race-road/183870508231 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Not-Westfield-Not-Caterham-Robin-Hood-Lotus-7-replica/352705916953

I've looked in the back of my 2b Tubular chassis and reckon there is room for an engine in there with a small modification to the chassis. Has anyone considered this before?

Hi, I've never adjusted suspension before, can anyone help? Car is on the road and handles fine. I have it booked in for a rolling road session in two weeks and they will also setup my geometry however at the moment the car is very low at the rear. From what I rear it should be 115 and 125 mm at the front bottom of chassis and 125 and 135mm at the rear, measured just in front of the rear wheel arch. Mine is way too low at the back at the rear its 65mm from the road to the floor pan (its a lowered floor pan). Am I measuring the correct point as per the attachment? What is the best way to adjust the shocks? I have the GAZ ones purchased from GBS an…

Has anyone ditched the Sierra rear trailing arms and linking the rear ended properly? Ive just purchased one running invoard front end on tie bars and Sierra rear but the rear feels horrid, feels like spring poss too tough as bounces about yet shocks maybe knackered as I can bottom it out @only 11 stone. Any help or advice regarding getting these to handle appreciated. I dont mind getting chassis fabrication etc in order to link the rear end of this needs doing, I just want it to be the best it can as running a 2.0 Zetec on 45s so fun enough just need the handling to match at present 🙈🙈. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm new to your world I guess? Just bought a stainless tub Robin from ebay land. Maybe somebody knows a bit about it. The one in Beverley, East Riding? Being ebay I just rocked up chucked it on the trailer and drove home. Closer inspection shows it to be a bit of a shed. Has MOT but really shouldn't have, many small faults but the cracks in the welds are not new and are spreading. Oh dear! Just a help call to anyone (in the Midlands preferably). Would like to talk to someone who has a similar car and hopefully meet so that I can put a tape measure over it to give me some dimensions to work to. One more on the road!! Greg.

Just purchased a part complete project and would like to know a starting point for the spring rate from what's already there. These are Spax M73's. The car had a cross flow and we're just installing a ST170. I'm going to change the springs and dampers and like to establish my starting point. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi all, I am looking to remove the paint (2 coats in places) from my stainless steel chassis and then polish the stainless. Is this a matter of a lot of elbow grease or is there an easy fix like dipping or light blasting to achieve a polished chassis. anyone got any ideas Ian.

Members Help Please I'm just bucking up courage to attack the beast with a grinder to convert the sliding pillar to wishbones. I dare say I'm not the first. I've gathered the following materials together to undertake the work myself:- Mk5 Cortina Front Hubs and 304 stl st 50mm sq tube for cross members, general stainless for gussets/ brackets etc + panel sheet, I also have a good set of tools and Tig / Mig Welders Has anyone personally undertaken wishbone conversion either from scratch or from a proprietary kit? I'm now retired so time is no longer a constraint, though want to complete the beast this year. I'm' looking for guidance on set up dimen…

Have fitted my new wheels today, 15 inch team dynamics 1.2 in the end because they came my way with new RainSport 3 tyres for a song. They look a bit lost in the arches after removing the 17s I had on there but Im sure the handling will be better as a result. I will be advertising the old wheels on eBay but have no idea what brand they are, was hoping someone here might be able to help. They are 17x7 et40 made in Italy. I know no more lol. I do know the tyres are Autogrip P308 lol. Good old 205/40/17s.

Hi guys, Picking up an unfinished Robin Hood S7 on Wednesday and I'm just wondering if there is any place I can get the manuals? I'm not 100% it's a mark 2 but judging by the pics I've got and what I've compared it to on the identification page I think it is. Also it's been on the road before and its got loads of documents with it, even the mots got robin hood under make, would I need an iva? Thanks, Andrew

Hello all. Im new and will soon join as a member. Ive recently bought an exmo kit which has been taken apart. I am trying to piece it back together. The front struts...i appear to be missing a top mount? The shocker is clamped into the hub and appears to be a coilover type with threaded nut section. Any idea where i can find replacement shocks and top mounts? Cheers Jordie

My car has always cornered slightly unpredictable when doing quick rights, lefts were fine. especially at the track, so i decided to have a go at corner weighting today. Net result is I now have the car with 50% cross weight 49%-51% side weight and 50.3 front weight 49.7% rear the cross weights were way off at the start. All this was done with my weight added to driver's seat and 1/2 a tank of fuel (4 gal). tomorrow i.m going to recheck the camber and toe. Looking forward to blyton Sunday to see what effects it had.

Had a minor prang in my 2B yesterday. Result is a smashed Nosecone and a very bent and creased bonnet. I think the Nosecone is still available from GBS but not the Bonnet panels. Mine are stainless steel. Does anyone have some for sale? If not then I need a good fabricator in the Southampton/Fareham/Winchester/Portsmouth area. Cheers. Mick.
